For the uninformed, this is Jerry's way of saying that FS-25 is now open from the south.

Would love to follow along, but the Ninja is still apart for service.

Tempting, but have the Grand Daughter in the dentist office. I do however want a report on road condition.

Damn. Just seeing this. Besides, I would test your ability to keep your eyes open.

You are correct! It's a good place to stay super-focused. I had one off road excursion on 99, in the blast zone. Fortunately it was one of the very few places that had a small runoff area before a scary drop off, and I didn't crash. Prior dirt riding experience told me to hit both brakes hard before leaving the pavement and release the from brake in the gravel. That saved my bacon!

That ride was a few weeks after I got back into riding after 10 years of not riding. That and pushing way too hard on the way up added up to exhaustion at Windy Ridge and too tired to ride well at speed. Live and learn! Half an energy shot at the Pine Creek visitor's center and the other half at Windy Ridge sure helps to enhance awareness on those two roads.

I've had no serious close calls in all my street riding (30 years) except for that one. Yep, 25 and 99 can bite you!
