Wednesday April 6, aka today ride to Astoria

Wednesday April 6.....today at 9:30

Shell station
404 NE 78th St, Vancouver, WA 98665

All are welcome. Heading out towards Scappoose, Birk, Astoria.

We'll be stopping at the Shell just east of Scappoose on hwy 30 around 10:30ish if any Portlanders wanna catch us there.

Hey, just to let you know, next time ride out to Jewell on 26 and take that road to Astoria. Its a great ride.

OP's route passes by the northern end of 103 (Jewell) and is a way more gooder way of getting there than slabbing 26 for an hour.

It's actually the "standard" way of going through Jewell if you want to do that as well.

26 is a great ride? I really hope you are just being funny. There are much better ways to get to Jewell if that is where you want to ride.

This is just my philosophy, so take it for what it's worth.

The only reason to ride 26, is if you have to get from 103 to 53 (or vice versa). As mentioned above, there are too many nice alternatives to just slabbing 26 and fighting traffic.

I took 26 there, 55mph. Then proceeded on 30 back, 55mph. Amazing fuel mileage. Briefly held up some 18 wheelers but promptly waved them by. Don't be jelly.
