I'm back and still alive

Last week I was a day away from riding to Tuscon AZ to visit relatives when my life got put on hold. I was working in my shop puttering on the GS when I got so dizzy I could barely stand.went into the house, sat in my chair and tried to call my wife who was shopping. Then realizing it was too serious to wait I tried but could not get my fingers to dial 911. After trying about 10 minutes to dial and realizing I could not I started thinking well this must be it for me. Just then my wife walked in and noticed something wrong and called the ambulance. Off to Emanuel in nopo because the best stroke doctors are there. They found and removed a blood clot on my brain. So the operation went well and the last week I've been in a hospital bed. They said another hour and I'd have been gone. No apparent after affects from the whole incident. No drooping face or muscles. Talked to my uncle in Tuscon and told him next year for the trip.He understood.
I'll be 70 in november and I'II continue to ride till God sez times up.

Glad to hear that your wife got to you in time, that you have recovered quickly and there are no lingering side effects showing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Good to hear that you are on the bounce back. Us old farts (child of 67) have to stick around and together to make sure that these young whippersnappers keep off of our lawns.

So glad you got the help at the right time. A, maybe I will start taking my BP meds like I should? Hope you have a complete recovery and maybe a lifestyle or diet change, but don't give up on the cycles!

Glad to hear you are still with us! I survived a stroke 6 years ago at the age of 44. Keep at the therapy as long as you need to. It makes a world of difference!

That is scary as hell. My dad had the same brain type stroke. Glad she got there quickly and took care of it as that could have had LONG lasting effects.

And please do take your BP meds ZX!!!!!...I am on Lisinopril. When the pandemic hit , I think my BP was something like 185/115? ut oh...Thank god for the V.A. when my medical bennies ran out!!

Keep up the therapy work! It does pay off. I had a stroke last December, with general weakness on one side and completely paralyzed from the hip down on the right side. Fortunately, I recovered relatively quickly, and I just returned from a motorcycle rally in Hood River, Oregon. The doc told me I could expect improvements in function for at least a year, so keep up your spirits.

My therapy session should be very short. Mostly clumsiness from being in a hospital bed for 10-11 days. I'm actually walking talking and so on very normal. Waiting for an appointment from Legacy Salmon Creek.Have no weakness on either side.
