  83 Suzuki GS 1100E
Around Mt Hood

Went for a ride yesterday on my original owner(me) 83 GS1100E leaving La center around 1100 am to Mt Hood and back. Went out I 84 with temps in the 80s and government camp expected to be in the 80s also.T shirt weather the whole way.Ive done this ride before doing 26 to 35 and back so decided to go the other way.Coming close to Multnomah Falls there was a reader board stating visitors to the falls had to park at Rooster Rock and take a shuttle bus! Never seen that before. There were a few bikes out not many. Mostly Harley. Big group of gen 4 Vettes on a cruise plus 20 or so Street rods. Got to Hood River wound my way off the exit to the long uphill ride to the sun. Made one stop shortly after getting on 35 to take a break with my snickers bar and water along side the road in the shade. Noticed a couple Harley’s coming actually heard them long before they came around the corner. Yes they waved. Back on the road I cruised at 55 the whole way. My plan was to stop at government camp for a break but coming up to Timberline Lodge I decided to go up that road and have a look. Only a few miles but when I pulled in there were so many cars they had cops directing traffic. Rode on through and back down the hill. At GC it was also jammed but I pulled in and parked next to a fellow from Bend on a newer 1200 BMW,an older than me couple from Minnesota on a new Harley dresser and their son from Illinois on a new big Indian. Good conversation with all. Done there I headed down the long hill to Sandy for a lunch stop at Subway. Sitting so I could see my Suzuki out the window I was amazed at all the beautiful ladies that were walking by to shop the local stores.Yowza! Done at Subway I headed toward Gresham and eventually I84. No tie up at all at 84 to205N so it was an easy ride back to LaCenter.Home about 4 pm. 194 miles total. Great ride. Might do Germantown road tomorrow, after that will be Backfire moto.
