Kamiah next year

Can we please not do Kamiah May 1-3 next year? Pretty please?! I vote for April 24-26 or Motherís Day weekend.

Weather is always a wild card for the Kamiah ride and the odds of good weather go up the later it is held. No one before has ever asked that the ride be held on Motherís Day weekend and unfortunately the weekends after Motherís Day are already booked by larger groups.

Iíll bite....Why is Motherís Day weekend a better time for the Kamiah ride and are there any other opinions/preferences from those that actually plan to attend?

Thumbs up

As of now it looks like I can attend any weekend of that month. I really hope I can attend next year as it was a really fun ride the one time I did attend.

The last wknd of May, -29, -30, -31 (wknd after 2020 Memorial Day)
might meet date comments so far in this thread; 'tis OK with me.
Wknd after Mom's Day would be tough for me. Steve's choice ...

Just to clarify, the weekend after Memorial Day and the weekend after Motherís Day are NOT under consideration, the question being asked is whether anyone prefers the Motherís Day weekend over our traditional weekend prior to Motherís Day weekend.

I should mention that I do not know at this time if the Motherís Day weekend is even an option. We have obtained group motel discounts in the past because the weekends immediately prior to Motherís Day are very slow weekends for the motel and that may not be true for Motherís Day weekend.

Kamiah next year

I missed Kamiah and Baker this year because I started racing. I fully admit this is a selfish request. The race schedule for next year is already posted for next season. May 1-3 is Round 1.

As far as Motherís Day weekend, mine has passed and Iím down for it. Nina has expressed it would work for her.

As long as it doesnít fall on a race weekend, Iím good.

I’m not sure which issue you feel is laughable but the scheduling of this ride is a big issue for anyone who wishes to attend. It’s next to impossible to pick a weekend that works for everyone but I am agreeable to changing our traditional weekend if if will allow more to attend, especially since our attendance has dropped dramatically since 2015.

Many stayed home in 2016 and 2017 due to bad weather but we had great weather in 2019 and the lowest attendance since the first ride in 2011 so if changing the weekend will increase attendance I’m all for it even though it may mean that I will not be able to attend. However, it’s hard to justify a change with the minimal input I have received to date.

If anyone else would like to attend please provide comments or a PM to me.

I said I didn't have a dawg in this fight because I'll come no matter which weekend chosen...I will say I think a week earlier is more likely to result in worse weather than a week later...I believe this is the tenth year (?)..and am hoping for as large a turn out as my first ride 6 years ago...

Unless more people want to change it, I say keep it the same. I'm game no matter what you want to do.
