Is it common for people to ride the course more then once? I would assume so if the course can be done in 3 hours but have no actual experience.

Usually the course is "open", and if you can make the loop in time before it closes, you can run it as many times as you want.

Did the poker run yesterday and had a great time. I learned sand was hard to ride in, whoops harder, and I was too tired to do a second lap.

All in all fun day.

I struggled with both. My suspension was too soft and my technique was lacking.

Learned alot though and enjoyed it overall.
