Anybody 62 or older?

Up until late August seniors who are 62 can get a lifetime pass to national parks at the 40 yr old price of $10 vs the current price of $80.

Am sure these are available at Ranier Nat'l Park.

Crap, you're even older than me.

I got my geezer pass last year, and it has definitely paid for itself over and over. It's good for a lot more than just national parks, including as a Northwest Forest Pass, so all of you hikers take note. Just remember to ask for a hang tag when you get the pass.

BTW: If you are any sort of outdoor enthusiast even the $80.00 is a bargain.

Mine was free as well. If you wanted a card for the car, it was ten dollars.

While stopping at an entrance, the ranger said, "Oh, I see you have a senility pass".

Went and bought mine this morning and have a couple of comments. If you buy it online, it's $20 ($10 for the pass and $10 for "additional processing fees"), but if you buy it from one of the Ranger locations, it's just $10. (I went to the Ranger Station at the main REI in Seattle) Also, you can get a motorcycle pass with the card for free, but you need to have your bike registration with you. The pass card can be used (by hanging from the rear view mirror) of any vehicle you're in (driver or passenger) but the motorcycle pass is only good for the one bike.

I picked up my lifetime pass a while back. Can you give some details of the "motorcycle pass"? Have not heard of that.

It's not a pass per se, it's a decal that is provided for use in place of the hang tag.

DECALS
If you own an open-topped vehicle (jeep, motorcycle, etc.) you may obtain a free decal to attach to your vehicle that will serve as proof of payment at sites that don't have a staffed entrance station.
  • Decals are issued on annual basis, even for owners of lifetime Senior/Access passes
  • Decals are NOT valid for entry at staffed entrance sites - you MUST show your pass
  • Decals must be obtained in person and you must show the following: your Pass, driver's license and vehicle registration. The name on all three documents must match.
  • All sites that issue passes issue free hangtags

And if, my fellow youngin's you bought the $80 Interagency Pass, and it didn't pay for itself; you didn't do enough riding. So, if you didn't succeed last year, try try again.

Just my .02

Does it work on the same list of federal lands that my Geezer Pass does? There are a few trailheads that I would prefer to have the decal in lieu of the hang tag for my truck.

That's the impression I was given, but I believe it's only for motorcycles.

I actually did a bit of research and came up with this.

Fair warning: with the impending price increase the site is seeing a butt-ton (SAE not metric) of traffic.

Looks like you found the info I have on the topic Larry.

For those who live in the 'couve or even some areas of PDX, you can get any of the passes at the Ft. Vancouver Visitor's Center.

They should have the afore mentioned decals as well.

Got mine last year on our annual camping trip to the Klamath River. The ranger I got it from had never sold one before! Now I know that's a remote campsite.
