Air Ambulance Coverage Improved

Positive Info.
Received notice that the eastern Washington service operated by NW MedStar has joined the larger regional Life Flight Network
as a result of ownership adjustments (money?) by the Providence Hospital network.
Two additional air bases to be established this year. Sounds better for our riding area.

As of April 1, the service expands:
*Washington, all of eastern WA and westward to the Pacific along the Columbia River (south),
*the full width of the northern 3/4 of Oregon,
*looks like all of Idaho,
*western Montana (Missoula and Butte)

Memberships are ~$60/yr per family and are said to cover the full cost even if your medical insurance balks.

Not affiliated with Life Flight in any way. I spend the $60 per year for peace of mind - just like any insurance.
Never used it, hope I never will but if I do I don't need even more expenses at a time like that.

picked up lifeflight awhile back, they work with all the other local air rescue companies too, absolutely worth $60 a year, especially when they average $30k a ride.

Only problem is that they apparently don't have any base in the Puget sound area so it's not going to help here.

If you ride out in the boonies, this can literally be a life and death thing. If you don't have it, use the service, and live...you might want to be dead when the bills start rolling in! Cheap insurance, man. Do it.

Not to mention if you need air transport from your local hospital to a regional medical center.

A relative of mine was flown from Newport WA to Spokane. They had to bring the helicopter in from Sandpoint to pick her up. 122 miles, $26,000.00 bill!

Funny thing is she had the application for the coverage in her purse.

Saving your ass ain't cheap!

On Thursday April 7th, 7:00 pm at 5 Mile Pizza in Spokane, a group that I belong to (the Eastern Washington ATV Assocation) is having a representative from the newly formed company speak to the group.

They offer 3 and 5 year membership plans at reduced rates.

The representative that I spoke to said if we have at least 9 people sign up from the group, they will give additional discounts to the membership fee as well.

Question

Think you might be able to ask them about setting up a group for members of this forum?
