2021 Steve's Baker City Ride Sept. 10, 11, &12 Fri., Sat. & Sun.

We'll be staying at the Oregon Trail Motel Sept. 10 and 11, Friday and Saturday nights. We have a group rate $60.00 plus tax for a double bed room $45.00 plus tax for a single bed room. Breakfast is included at the Oregon Trail Restaurant. Swimming pool is open. When making reservations, please tell them its for Steve's Ride. There number is
1-541-523-5844. Please make your reservations as soon as possible, you can always cancel them later if it doesn't work out.
Usually how this works, riders form their own groups depending on pace, distance and who they would like to ride with at planned starting points and all groups meet up at the motel at the end of their rides. If there are individuals who need to join a group to ride with, just post up and we'll get you matched up with one. Nobody will be left behind.
In the past, Friday morning starting point for Kennewick was Starbucks on Hwy 395 and Kennewick Ave. Kick stands up at 9:00am. For Hermiston, we'll be leaving from Starbucks on hwy 395 and Elm st at 9:00am. Each group can post up what route and distance they would like to do so they can decide when and where they would like leave from other than these two places.
Also check out the Facebook page where most pics and activities will be posted. You'll have to be invited in.

Many thanks to Pete for assuming the responsibility of coordinating this ride with the Oregon Trail Motel and other details since old age and injuries now prevent me from actively participating. Central Oregon offers some of the best riding in the PNW regardless of skill or experience and Baker City provides a great home base to take advantage of those riding opportunities.

Have fun and ride safe!

Thanks Ben…but nothing lasts forever (except old age) and I was very lucky to be able to enjoy riding for over 50 years and will ride again after my rotator cuff fully heals, I just will not be riding on long trips anymore.

WOOT! Thanks Pete!

And we now see some light at the end of the tunnel. Looks like the border will reopen for fully vaccinated travelers on Aug 9. So, I should be there!

Steve, sorry to hear about your rotator cuff. That would definitely inhibit riding!

See you all at the palatial Oregon Trail Motel!

I may have spoken too soon. Our Prime Minister, Mr. Giggles has announced the reopening, but seems Joe has not responded yet.

Thanks Steve for doing this ride for the past many years. You'll be missed. I'll try to keep it going.

Well, I hope you can make it. Make your reservations for the motel anyways, you can always cancel later.

I hope I can make it as well. Yesterday the US gummint decided to extend the closure until the 21st. Hilarious that I can, if vaccinated and have a negative test fly down without issue.

I have booked the time off work and will be booking my room.
