WMRRA Round 1 Corner Workers Wanted - Pacific Raceways Kent!

Well, here we are...just about ready to kick off the 2016 WMRRA race season! I hope the off season treated everyone well. The behind the scenes action as been pretty busy this winter, there were quite a few rules changes that will hopefully make the day go a little quicker and smoother. Also we have a new webmaster and if you haven't been to the new wmrra.com clear your browser history and take a look, but pardon the dust, some of it is still under construction.

You'll also notice looking at the schedule Round 4 is going to be at Portland International Raceway, this is a joint round with our friends down at OMRRA. From all accounts of the first one last year it was great fun and massively full grids. I'll be working with my counterpart at OMRRA to see what help we can be.

Now onto the important stuff...it's time to dust off your corner worker boots and help open the season at Pacific Raceways in Kent April 23-34 2016!
You are receiving this email because you have either previously corner worked with us or asked to be put on the email list for future events, if you would like to be removed from further emails just reply to this email saying so.

If youíre interested in joining us for one or both days, please reply to this email and I will get you the weekend gate codes so you don't have to pay the gate fee. That email generally comes out the Friday morning before the event.

For some added incentive I'd like to offer Volunteer Corner Workers a FREE Taste of Racing session. Work one day get one TOR, work 2 days get 2 TOR's. Good for use anytime throughout the season at either Washington track.

Racers that are on this list please hit up your friends and family...I'm sure they'd love to see you breaking the track record from track side

For those of you who havenít volunteered yet:
We provide hot coffee, tea, water, breakfast, snacks and lunch!
Schedule:

Just a reminder that weíre still starting a bit earlier this year. This is so that we can have our Corner Worker Safety Meeting as well as listen in on the Riders Safety Meeting, which was moved up to allow more time between when those meetings are over and when the track goes hot.

Here is what the race day will look like:
6:30am : Join us for a hot cup of coffee (or tea) and grab some breakfast! Sign up for your favorite corner or explore a new side of the track you haven't seen before. Pick up your radio and safety gear.
7:00am : Corner Workers Safety Meeting - Here you will learn about flags, radios, what to do in an emergency, and updates on what's going on trackside.
8:00am : Riders Safety Meeting - All Corner Workers listen in on the Riders Meeting to get a better feel for the days schedule and any important information.
8:30am : Grab some water and snacks (we provide these too!) and head out to your corner.
8:45am : Walk your piece of the track to ensure that it is ready for its big day. Make sure you have all your safety equipment, and get ready for an exciting day in the best seat in the house.
12:00pm - 1:00pm : LUNCH! We provide lunch and beverages too!
After Lunch : Stock up on waters and head back out to your corner. You're welcome to talk to the Corner Captain if you want to switch corners after lunch.
4:00pm - 5:00pm : Shutdown. Bundle up your flags and head on in to drop off your radio and vest and stop by for a cold drink! (Adult beverages and / or cold sodas provided)

**Please dress properly for the weather. Wear shoes that are comfortable for standing, running and will protect you on the track (sneakers, boots, etc are okay. flipflops are not). Wear long pants and bring a pair of riding or gardening gloves if you have them. Please do not wear any red clothing - unfortunately this looks too much like a "red flag" and is a safety concern.
You may want to bring a chair to relax in in between races, also sun screen and rain gear isn't a bad idea, it is Spring in the PNW after all.
Please feel free to forward this and bring your friends and family
If you have any questions at all please donít hesitate to contact me directly!
We look forward to seeing you at the track!

For those who have never done this, DO IT!! We can always use more people. It's straight up the second best seat in the house.

I'm in for both days. Might have to bring the Bonnie and Aerostich along so I can sneak in ToR during lunch.
