Track Days Going to Happen?

I'm just wondering out loud if track days will happen while the whole corona virus situation plays out.

I'm not sure whether the typical track day attendance falls over or under the ban on gatherings of a certain number of people.

Even if it did, it seems that a typical track day is far different in terms of rubbing elbows from, say, a basketball game crowd or political rally. Everyone is spread out under their popups and such.

There are other factors, such as insurers, medics in the ambulance, etc, which make me rather pessimistic.

Again, just thinking out loud, and bumming at the thought of possibly losing track days.

Most TDs are under 250 people total. So I would imagine yes. But that could always be contravened by the PTB.

The Ridge has announced that it will continue with events but will not allow spectators during this time.

Unfortunately, Carter's canceled this weekend at Thunderhill. I was really looking forward to it. Totally understandable, though. They're giving credits or a refund.

Also, the email from Jesse said that Thunderhill had promised to give them the canceled days back this season, if possible.

Got an email that PTT was canceling their March & some April events, too.

At any rate, the weather's good this weekend, so a street ride might be a good thing.

With the restriction now down to 50 people, and the closing of "recreational facilities" through the end of the month in WA, chances are no track events until sometime in April.

2Fast is still hosting track days with online riders meetings. Other orgs including WMRRA had better follow suit, or I will go insane.

I might freak out a bit without track days, too!

From what I had seen, Carter's was going to hold the rider's meeting over the PA, so probably the only real gathering would be going through tech.

I really like 2Fast's system of coming to your pit area to check out your bike, though. That makes more a more civilized start to the track day!

At any rate, I hope all the social distancing, school and event closing, and business impacts impart a strong downward trend to the number of new cases!

The lack of medical services is going to be the factor for most venues I would think..
