RIP William Dunlop

Very sad news.

I wonder if this will drive Michael to quit, or do what his family has done all along and dive even deeper into the sport.

Sad news, but not unexpected. I suspect that Michael will continue to race and finish up the same way, or just be injured too badly to continue. John McGuinness is pretty much retired at this point due to injuries.

The Dunlops live to race. Michael is young and successful enough that I believe he will continue to need racing to live.
