OPRT @ PIR Friday 4/26

Hey, is anyone doing this day? I'm thinking about riding in but would need someone to pit with ideally. I did 2 days last year @ PIR so will probably sign up for Level 2

Leaving my stuff laying around in the lot seems like a bad idea

You can always "pit" up with us at the registration tent area, many students park their bikes there during classroom sessions and put their gear around there. We'll have some spare chairs and shade and water available

Sounds good, I just signed up.

Is there braking distance markers with the chicane setup?
Will there be food vendors?

Brake markers would be anything on the fence to the left, however I don't believe OMRRA is running the chicane the first round. Food vendors again are an OMRRA set up thing, sometimes there are, sometimes there aren't. It'd be wise to grab a few sandwiches or something just in case beforehand

I *might* be out there. Wasn't planning to, but I'm on call for work tonight, so I might be able to make it (still need a lot of things to go right to make it work). If you see a green pop-up with a 78 number plate out and a Triumph Bonneville getting prepped, come say hi and pit with me if you like.

As far as security, I've left bikes, gear, tools, all kinds of stuff laying out for track days and race weekends for a few years now and not had issues. I've heard of it happening, but never seen it myself.

OMRRA is *not* running the chicane for round 1. There are 1/2/300 foot markers on the fence for the chicane, turn 1, and turn 7. I don't remember if OPRT puts out cones for brake or apex markers during their days. If you have a chance to walk the track, there are some spray painted markers on the track surface in a few spots, especially turn 4. It's best to learn some off-track markers (the billboard, turn stations, end of grandstands, etc), though as they'll help you get around while keeping your head looking up and through the turns.

I'll keep an eye out, appreciate the info! I have to re-familiarize myself with the the track as it is anyways

Thanks for the confirmation on NO chicane for round one. That means we won't be running it during the track day either. And to confirm, OPRT doesn't put out any cones in corners for braking, apex or exit markers.
