Apr 2016 Seattle, WA '79 XS650; '01 FZ1; '72 CB175; '69 CL175; '09 Ninja 250r | Now that the PNW race season is over...consider your winter project!
So, the the last OMRRA round as well as the extended WMRRA round are both cancelled... kind of a sad ending, but on the brighter side, it's time to look toward 2021...and your next winter project! ![]() Here's my pitch: If you like working on old bikes and/or perhaps like pushing vintage metal to their limit...you may want to consider vintage racing! Yep, that's right...vintage racing is alive and strong in the PNW, and we're always looking for ways to get more people involved. What's vintage racing you ask? Well, at the core, it's a group of motorcycle enthusiasts that love to work on and keep alive 40 yr old bikes...but more over, we love to get them out on a track and push them well beyond what was ever imagined by the engineers who originally designed them. What kind of bikes are we talking? Well anything made before '74...and there's a race group for just about any make/model (hondas/Nortons/Yamaha, etc). The more popular are the 750's , 500's, 350's and the beloved Honda 160's (Which are really now Honda CB/CL175's). What's required? What's it cost? What's the Point? Well, get yourself a running Honda CB175, take off all the street bits, and you're pretty much set. Join WMRRA (Or OMRRA) and get your license...and then race that shit! The cost to race these little bikes can be WAY less than modern racing...but all of that is relative...and you will likely spend more than you care to admit. BUT, the fun factor both on and off the track, the excitement, the experience and the group of amazing racers you'll be with is PRICELESS. Want to know more? Find us on facebook (Group W Racing), or reach out to me with questions. Here's a little video of our group a few years back...enjoy! https://vimeo.com/243398052?fbclid=I...zczm_rrsElVKss |

It is!! It's really hard to put into words how crazy fun and exhilarating it is to be on these little bikes ripping around the track. Plus, it provides hours of tinkering, fixing and learning how to get these motors to sing.
