Ninja 250 lap times @ the Ridge

Curious what the lap times are for Ninja 250 at The Ridge. Does anyone know the times put down during a WMRRA event there? Just curious. Thx.

390's/300's are getting into the 58's or 56's.

I'd say sub-2:00 for a good rider?

I've seen a lot of guesses on how fast they should be. I'd like to see the actual lap times from a race.

They post results for each race weekend pretty quickly. Not sure of the specific rules for each class, but you can get a rough idea.

Ultra lightweight super sport and 250 grand prix. Not sure what other classes people race them in. Maybe some people in novice 2.

That video is on the old surface with the old T13....so, add at least two seconds.

You can go dig through race results yourself : https://trackintel.com/ti/wmrra/ajax...lts/index.html

Rider skill in that class is a bit all over the place, so race lap times aren't going to give you the full picture. Philip Melnyk has put in a 1:59.6, I've seen confirmed laps hovering around 2:00.

My experience riding my 390 alongside a slower Ninja 250 suggests I can make up ~2 seconds on the front straight, and a bit on the brakes due to better feel and power.

But hey, what do I know.....I'm just "Guessing"

What are your laptimes?

I'm running consistent 2:10s with :08s and :09s tossed in. Pulled a 2:07:75 on Monday. Still have work to do but I'm making good headway. I'm not concentrating on pushing the times down. I'm just concentrating on being smoother and more consistent. The lower times are the byproduct. However I thought a good guage of success would be to compare to the club racers. I would love to race but I made some promises that unfortunately keep me from club racing. I am working on it though.

Hawker is all over it. He is not guessing. One of the fastest guys on the baby bikes. Here is a screen shot from one of last years race at rmp. Come see me at an OPRT track day and I will show you some lines on the baby ninja if I haven't already.

Both of these guys are some of the fastest on any bike! Also both these guys have years of experience going fast on small bikes.

I've probably rode with most of you at one point or another, just don't know you from your forum names. I'll be at the next OPRT event so feel free to stop by and say hi, I'll have the Astro turf rolled out.

Look into joining the Level 2 school, it'll get you some private coaching with SmokedU, and Damon Mon Wai. Couple of the fastest guys out there, and amazing instructors as well.
Not saying it'll take 5 secs off your lap, (actually, yes I am), but guarantee you'll learn tons and have a blast.

We just fitted the OPRT KTM390 with a new shock and Andreani fork cartridges, we should turn SmokedU loose on it next Sunday and see what it'll do. Sub 2:00s?
Damon Mon Wai likes this.

Thread hijack!!

Hmm, how about having a competition to see which instructor can turn the fastest lap on the 390? Think Alan would go for it? LOL Just kidding!

Eh, it's probably gonna happen, like it or not.
We've ordered GPS lap timers from MotoD, planning to have a lap timer rental program next season. And to incorporate them into our schools also.

Almost certain there's gonna be bragging rights in play.
Though being the crafty guy, I'm gonna zip tie mine to one of those shifter carts that turn 1:25s, ha!
