Moto Trivia-500cc Hungarian GP 1992

Anyone remember the outcome of the 1992 500cc Hungarian GP?

Bonus points for naming 1st-4th place. (No google searches allowed) Just watched on VHS, such a great race.

Remember it? crap, I can't even remember where I was sleeping in 92..... however I was following the races back then.. Seem to remember some crazy stories about the bridesmaid Randy Mamola....... That was the days where USA actually had quite a few horses in the race post Kenny Roberts days.

At any rate
It was available on my season pass at MotoGP.com.
Had to watch the whole race to be fair.
BTW, wasn't it available on Betamax?
500cc on wet tracks no traction control....... balls. Don't even have to ask me once to watch any of the old 500cc 2-smoke races.

Rain races are crazy, especially when it dries out during the race.....

That being said:
1. First time for Cagiva to win a GP. Eddy Lawson, one of the greatest. Agostini was the team manager then.
2. Doug Chandler
3. Randy Mamola
4. Kevin Schwantz
5. Wayne Rainey

ALL USA.
Mick Doohan was in the lead in points then. Got to spend a night with Mick at Laguna a few years ago. Worst hangover ever. Crazy, crazy night.
Now go watch the 2001 Phillip Island GP. Do it.

That was a fine race! Cool to see Haga pass Rossi, eventhough, he had a difficult time on 2-strokes.

I reckon Max is bitter about loosing this race on the last lap, and still bitter to this day, since those guys had such a rivalry. So close to the stripe, had it been a touch farther down the track, Biaggi may of had him.

Rossi, Biaggi, Caprirossi, Barros.

Miss the commentators too, Julian Ryder, and Keith Huewen, favorite guys to listen to, doing the play by play.

And Davies does the double in WSBK, and Cam does too in Moto America.

I still think that the most exciting 500cc race was the '90 Australian GP. It was a dog-fight between the Rothman's Hondas of Gardner and Doohan, the Yamaha of Rainey and the Suzuki of Shwantz. Places were swapped at almost every corner. Gardner nearly high-sided early in the race and broke the fairing stay which allowed his fairing to flop and on the brakes it would push onto the front tire.

If you can find a video, watch it.
