Colin Edwards Texas Tornado Boot Camp Anyone?

So I have been gifted a week at the Texas Tornado Boot Camp 7 day race camp in February. Anyone from the PNW attending? Not cheap but holy crap what an awesome event they look to put on. Several riders from the British Superbike Series are going to attend including James Ellison and Peter Hickman (google Hickey Isle of Man...) to name a few!!! 7 days of flat track training to get you used to bike control. Beer, BBQ, Guns (including a 50cal), Multiple full races, marksmanship tournament and a pavement day. Lodging, food and anything else you need provided! Everyone rides TTR 125s with a knobby front and a slick rear to teach drifting. Would be cool to team up with anyone from the area.

You lucky SOB. SOunds like an epic gift. Hickman and Ellison are so fun to watch in BSB. You will need multiple cameras me thinks. Have fun!

From what I understand, the BSB boys are attending and not guest instructors. At any rate, the races should prove to be challenging! I’m hoping to bring a couple go pros with me to document the week. I’ll share the experience as time permits. If there’s WiFi there I might even put up a live stream.

I'm curious about the pavement day. The website didn't talk much about the 7-day experience, just the 4-day. Do you know what they'll be doing on pavement?

That's quite the gift. I did the 4 day camp with no pavement involved, but that does sound interesting.

Of course the riding is a blast and shooting is pretty fun, but they also have RS125-powered go karts that you can drive at night when the bikes are put away and you've had a few beers. I also took a half day while everyone was paintballing to head out wakeboarding on Colin's boat.

Side note - careful trying to keep up with those BSB boys after-hours. They know how to party.

you use the same TTr125s on a paved circle track. Still practicing control but on pavement. I believe the used to use a parking lot but have found a better place to do it now.

I think I want to crank off a round with the 50cal for sure so I can cross that off the bucket list. I had heard there were karts there but hadn't heard about paintball and wake-boarding. Here I was just being excited about getting to ride and train 7 days straight. I foresee that I'm going to be one tired puppy..... well tired old dog is more fitting;-)
I'm not too worried about keeping up with the BSB boys after hours, they're dealing with a PNW hillbilly here, liver is trained and read to go! lol.

Only Colin and Josh Hayes (one of the guests when I was there) could shoot the 50. He might let you if you ask politely, but the rest of us shot a 30-06 at 200 yards. Still very rewarding hearing the "ping" from so far away.

  Anything with two wheels.
Should be a great time! I've heard rumors that some GPguys make appearances sometimes as well! One never knows!

I'm hitting the 4 day one after the COTA race, don't want to go to Texas twice.
