The reason for the sale is that they are closing shop...so don't wait.

My bike was on consignment there until they told me to come get it last week. The sales floor is starting to look pretty barren.

Dam... another motorcycle business bites the dust. In the past few months Bent Bike and Pt. Townsend Honda closed their doors plus Jesse at Kientech Engineering is retiring and shutting down, (K.E. Sold and made specialty parts for the DR-650).

I don't know, but the last time I was in Redline, on Black Friday, they were trying to fire up a Ducati Monster on the sales floor and the thing just wouldn't run. It would fire, sputter, and die. They did that until they killed the battery. Great sales tactic on their part. I mean, for one, you don't try to start a bike in an enclosed sales room. And two, you had better make sure the bikes you are trying to sell will actually start.

Their Facebook page makes it sound like they are moving facilities and getting away from retail and into fabticating/building custom bikes.

ATTENTION RED ARMY!!!!! AFTER 7 AWESOME YEARS IN RETAIL, AND THINKING WE WOULD BE DOING ANOTHER 20 YEARS OF RETAIL IN TACOMA. WHAT STARTED AS A PASSION PROJECT A FEW YEARS AGO, MAKING NEW, INNOVATIVE TWO STROKE MOTORCYCLES. HAS SOMEHOW TURNED INTO A NEW VENTURE BASED ON A LEVEL OF DEMAND THAT I WOULD HAVE NEVER IMAGINED, CONSIDERED, OR DREAMED OF. THE RETAIL SIDE OF BIKES IS A GREAT BUSINESS, AND A VERY SATISFYING ASPECT OF THE INDUSTRY. HOWEVER, FOR ME, THE OWNER, MY PASSION FOR MAKING BIKES FAR EXCEEDS MY PASSION FOR SELLING THEM. I NEVER THOUGHT PRODUCING THEM WOULD EVER, WELL "PAY THE BILLS". TURNS OUT I WAS WRONG....IN A GOOD WAY, LOL. SO AFTER 7 YEARS OF A VERY LONG COMMUTE FROM POULSBO. I GOT A DEAL I COULDNT REFUSE ON A MFG FACILITY CLOSER TO HOME. A BUILDING DESIGNED AND LAID OUT TO DO ONE THING. PRODUCE THE MOST CUTTING EDGE, CREATIVE, WELL-BUILT , BOTH ON AND OFF-ROAD MOTORCYCLES (in our opinion, lol) IN THE WORLD. ITS A BIG STATEMENT AND GOAL. BUT TRYING TO BE THE BEST AT RETAIL, AND THE BEST AT BUILDING AND CREATING NEW BIKES, YOU END UP END TRYING TO BE ALL THINGS TO ALL PEOPLE AND YOU LOSE THE ABILITY TO FOCUS ON THE VENTURE THAT IS YOUR LIFE-LONG PASSION, AND I CANT BELIEVE I EVEN GET A SHOT AT IT. I'M HUMBLED BY IT. IM HUMBLED BY THE THOUSANDS OF AMAZING COMPLIMENTS AND MESSAGES AND INQUIRES ABOUT OUR BIKES. WE HAVE MANY PEOPLE WAITING RIGHT NOW FOR REQUESTS FOR PRODUCT, BUT THE EVER CONSUMING ASPECT OF RETAIL HAS MADE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TOO EVEN BE "AVERAGE" AT EITHER BUSINESS MODEL IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS...SO, TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS IN THE GREATER TACOMA AND SEATTLE AREA....THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR BUSINESS AND SUPPORT!!! REDLINE WE STILL BE IN WA.....BUT SIMPLY GOING TO MAKE A SERIOUS CHARGE INTO THIS NEW ...REALLY "AN OPPORTUNITY OF A LIFETIME"....SO!!! I DONT FEEL LIKE SELLING HELMETS ON EBAY FOR THE NEXT 20 YEARS...LOL.....TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY "TURN AND BURN" SIDE AND ITS MOVING SALE TIME!!!! CASH ONLY!!! STARTING TODAY....50-80 PERCENT OFF EVERYTHING IN THE STORE.....EVERYTHING!!!!...NOTHING IS OFF-LIMITS....BRING CASH, MAKE AN OFFER.....STARTS NOW AND ENDS TOMORROW AT 6....GET WHILE THE GETTING IS GOOD.....WE HAVE A VERY FULL INVENTORY, NOTHING HAS BEEN PICKED THRU YET.....COME AND BUY A $250 NEW MATTE BLACK ICON VIPER HELMET FOR $99!!!!!....CASH!!!! LET DO THIS!!!, AND YOU WILL ALSO BE APART OF FUNDING THE PRODUCTION OF SOME OF THE MOST "OUT OF THE BOX" NEW BIKES TO HIT THE MARKETPLACE....UMMMM....EVER?...SO WE ARE STILL "REDLINE" STILL IN WA, BUT JUST MAKIN EM' NOW INSTEAD OF SELLIN EM......WE ARE EXCITED!!!! AND THIS PAGE WILL CONTINUE TO BE THE PLACE TO WATCH THIS NEW VENTURE UN-FOLD!!!! GET ON DOWN HERE AND GET WHILE THE GETTING IS GOOD!!!.....AN EXAMPLE OF SOME TIRES AND A LITTLE PREVIEW OF NEW MFG SHOP!!"

I believe there are a lot of folks who still don't understand how sick (financially) the power sports industry is.

In 2007 there were 885,000 new street bike and dual sports sold in the U.S.

Counting dirt bikes and scooters the total added up to 1,124,000 units sold in 2007.

In 2014 there were 483,000 new street bikes and dual sports sold in the U.S.

Counting dirt bikes and scooters the total was 560,000.

2015 sales was just below 2014 sales.

So, the industry is still down 50% from 10 years ago.

Sounds like he's shifting to making the 2-stroke custom builds in a new shop closer to home...??? That was difficult to read.

I take it his real passion is the two stroke custom builds, but he burnt out on a full retail power sports dealer. The entire Facebook message is similar to those 1980s going out business for carpet stores that had "going out business" sale three times a year.

That is how translated it. Maybe Redline is doing a Jack Roberts improve. He won't be undersold!
