The only question is whether we do this on the day it opens of ruin the ride by waiting for the weekend. I like to get an early start (like 08:00-08:30) out of the Safeway gas station in Enumclaw to get ahead of the motorhome gangs.

It's still not a speed race, but it can be a bit "spirited." The road surface going up can be less than ideal and wet with snow melt. I just wish that they could get MRNP open so that I can loop back through Paradise.

I've always loved going "Opening Day"; weather permitting of course.

I'm shooting for the first day the pass opens, or the first clear day after it opens.

I'll keep my eyes open.

We had a great ride last year, even with the House of the Rising Cinnamon Roll (in Nile) being no more.

SR 410/Chinook Pass and SR 123/Cayuse Pass are open for the season.
Dammit! WSDOT didn't give us a heads up.

Oh Well... Wonder if FS-25 is open yet?

Looks good to me. However, if we were thinking of going through Mt. Rainier, Stevens Canyon Road doesn't appear to be open all the way through to Paradise.

Stevens Canyon Road remains temporarily closed between Bench & Snow Lakes trail and Grove of the Patriarchs trail due to winter damage. NPS
