#160 Quarter Throttle Ride

Ole Mr. Geek has been pushing me to get a new bike ever since he switched from that BMW of his to the joys of being the object of all the StarDucs jokes.

Well.......Geek finally got his wish. Friday, 9-9-16 I finally brought home a new Duc, earning me a lifetime membership to StarDucs.

Say hello to my 1299s Anniversario. It's number 160 out of 500. I really had to get this one when the chance arose.

Geek, Mr too Cool to mention, and I took a little breakin ride today and stopped in Eatonville for lunch. Geek and I made a Panini sandwich out of Mr Too Cools RSV4. An all Italian sandwich lol.

I still have Jewel and I'm keeping her. If you try to buy her it'll cost you $50,000. See......I'm keeping her.

Now with Jewel being the Classic that she is, the Anniversario is a total 180 degrees different.
Riding Jewel is old school, 86 RWHP with no electronics other than fuel injection. A great handling bike that brings me back to the older simpler days.

Now the Anniversario is the epitome of a modern sportbike that was bred for the track, with lights being its only concession to being street legal. With the Akrapovics on her, she sounds and feels like an angry pissed of redhead that's out to kick everyone's booty. WHAT A RIDE!!!

Now I might need to go back to school and get a computer science degree to be able to ride this bike. All these modern electronics and programs is quite a bit for us old guys to take in, but I'm getting the hang of it. Traction wheelie and braking control were always controlled by me, the loose nut behind the bars. Now I'm getting to play with all these electronics programs and somehow start to trust them. Can an old dog learn new tricks?

Either way, this bike is a blast!!!

Thanks for the ride today guys.

Lol I told you I was done driving to Bellevue for parts and service.

Besides, you're ordering an EBR for Christmas

Hahahaha
I can't go over 6000 rpm for her first 600 miles. That's only 100 mph in sixth gear. A little birdie told me so and I know you believe that seeing as you and everyone else has witnessed that I never break the posted limit.

But if the weathers nice I plan on riding up to Pacific next Sunday to have Barry set my suspension for me.

I'll be stopping by Hinshaws when they open tomorrow morning if you're around the area.

NRC Fender Eliminator Kit

Following Geek around today gave me a chance to give his NRC fender eliminator a good look. It's a clean setup and the signals were nice and visible on a bright day.

Since I've had one beer this evening, and am officially inebriated, I ordered up the kit.

I really need to get to bed.
