  2013 Wing with Tunes...
Greetings TimberMoto,

I am a lifetime resident of Spokane. Hmmm, what do I like about this place?

I like the four seasons, some years are stronger than others.
I like the cost of living compared to other places. I've lived and worked in a few other places across the western us.
I couldn't speak to the quality and/or availability within the job market here having always being employed since I was 14 OR maybe I just did... Granted, one's skills and talents play into that, let alone work ethics...
If you like variation in scenery then this place is close to many possibilities...

Shameless plug: My wife is a real estate agent. Want more about that; then you can ask. Your call.

Good luck with your decision...
TimberMoto and LRT like this.

  Maybe next year?
I want to get away from the rainy winters, so needless to say western Washington is out of the running. I'm seriously starting to consider Boise again. An hour flight to visit family in Portland and housing prices are very reasonable.

  North Idaho

I relocated up here in early 2013 after my ex and daughters moved up here (2012)to be near her family. I for one love it here, I only mis San Diego on the crappiest of winter days.

I actually found a job paying slightly more than I was making in San Diego ( Network Engineer )
I bought a nice AFFORDABLE home , I have a 15 year mortgage and should have it paid off in 12. I am still paying slightly less than I was paying in rent in San Diego.
I have my 401K maxed
I still am able to buy some toys and live much better here than there.

I will gladly take 4 seasons ( some worse than others ) in exchange for reasonable cost of living, less government, less population density and less traffic.

I do however live 30 miles east in North Idaho and commute to Spokane for work.

This has been a helpful post. I'm currently in the Tri Cities area and have thought about relocating to Spokane as well. I'm in vehicle repair and the market here for lateral moves is challenging. Been in the Tri since the housing collapse of 08 forced us from Vegas. Don't miss the insane heat for sure (though this winter has been quite a doozy). Anyone know how the dealer biz is up that way?

I see Toyota dealers here posting jobs for mechanics. Check indeed.

Moved around a bit, and I've traveled all over, and I always end up back here.
I might be nuts, but I like Spokane.
It's also one of the top cities in the nation to raise a family.
