Mar 2016 North of CDA KTM 950 Super Enduro, Honda XR 650R | Stupid sportbike asses
So at about 6pm this evening I'm getting ready to leave the In-Laws place after supper. I'm sitting at the end of their driveway ready to pull out onto West Highland Drive. We all know it, the curvy hilly road that goes from Stateline though Post Falls and comes out just south of CDA on US 95, on the south side of the river. Yeah that's the one. A warm evening, I have my windows down waving bye at people in the yard and I hear loud engines screaming my way. I held up on my entry to the road. Four or five sport bikes BLEW by the nose of my car under big throttle,,, NONE of them gave me a glance. I sat there pretty amazed as a straggler came by a few seconds later. I killed my engine and listened for more before I finally got under way. Very loud exhaust, super fast speeds, so fucking careless on a road with blind hills and corners and a drive way every 50 yards. Had my window been up or the radio on, the first group would all be dead tonight. So the folks that live there hate all motorcycles more than before and I have had my generalized view that sportbike riders do very bad shit for our image reaffirmed. Probably none of them are reading this but it you hear about this group and this ride pass this on to them. I hope you had a great ride tonight, because if it wasn't for my experience and good judgement countering your reckless riding, you would all be dead now. You are welcome and get your heads out of your asses. |

Flying down country roads, with driveways, at high speed to blitzing in and out of freeway traffic at even higher speeds. Wheelies and stunting on public roads. These things happen way too often, and primarily by young kids on sport bikes not old bikers on Harleys (just spend a few minutes looking through YouTube). This stuff tarnishes the sport for everyone else. Sent via SM-G930P |

![]() That's a very good judgement. To put the scene in a perspective, was sort of like one same robbery at a convenient store. To some people, it would look worse if the criminal was a black man in a rap outfit than a white man in a suit, using the exact same weapon and doing the exact some action, step by step, word for word. |

Over here I see most idiots riding supermotos. Riding up and down sidewalks to avoid traffic and stop lights and doing wheelies everywhere. Its not the bikes its the riders...

It was the riders making stupid asses choices, but it actually was the bike making the noise. Can you really separate the man from the machine? I mean, it is the human responsible the results, isn't it. However, to the non-riding crowd I was leaving it was the same as any weekend..." there goes another bunch of goddamned noisy motorcycles speeding past my driveway again. They are going to kill someone" Those are exact words and also exactly correct. There is no other way to see it. Aftermarket exhaust at high RPMs makes for obnoxious noise and top that with speeds way over the posted limit and it was clearly a bad image for sport bikes to me but to the people who live there, they are all motorcycles. Add to that, they were so close to death and totally ignorant of it.

Had a guy in a city truck drive 10 mph in a long 25 zone on west bay drive in olympia with a double yellow. visability was almost the entire distance of the road. the whole time, he had his flashers on while writing something or on his phone going down the road. after flashing my lights and revving (no horn), he still wouldnt even look up. no oncoming so i dropped a gear and passed him as quick as i could. at the next intersection he got out and started to yell at me screaming about me being an organ donor....wtf

With great horsepower and handling comes great responsibility. We are all representatives of our sport, lifestyle or commuter choice. If people precieve you as a dick. We're all Dick's in there minds.
