Not a single dealer in our area has ever mentioned track days or that we even have a track when I've visited. CycleGear has a tiny little note on their bulletin board but I doubt 99% of the riders that visit there could tell me where that board is posted. It's unfortunate that the numbers are dwindling, we have a great set-up for budget track time. The atmosphere is way less intimidating, it's easy to get started and it's very relaxed. Here is the SCR homepage with dates: http://www.spokanecountyraceway.com/#!road-course/c10x3 I've never seen spectators charged the $12 viewing fee but it may be different this year. |

So these are the Open Test and Tune? Do the bikes have their own session? How about the single-file cones IS put out in the newer section? Not a lot of info offered on the SCR website..... I'm game if someone can get a little more info out there. and yes....I called. I just get a recording. Edited by cjohns on Apr 11th 2016 at 02:24 PM |

The last several test and tunes I attended, ran by Code Red, did not have the single file cones that IS put in because they run cars also, so I would anticipate no cones now if there will also be cars on the track. And charging $12 for spectators at a track day is a little ridiculous... That'll likely hurt their attendance. I know at a lot of the IS and Code Red track days, people would bring their families and such and make a day out of it. Don't see that happening if you have to pay $12 each just to sit in the pits. |

It was something Sullivan Racing came up with right after the track was reconfigured, and Inland Speed copied; the idea was to force you to slow down a bit before the long straight to help you avoid the new wall. KevinD |

The day I went out with Code Red, the riders discussed and we opted to skip the cones and just be cognizant that we were riding toward a Jersey barrier. In order to do the cones with cars in the other session they would have had to be re-placed each session, and in a hurry. Which means they very likely would be placed differently each time. I was never a fan of the cones in the first place. I understand the rationale, but the narrow passage had me looking down instead of through the corner. I felt far safer running without them, using my own judgement as to when and how far to open the throttle. |

Bikes run their own session alternating with the car session. No cones in the chicane, like others pointed out. Here's a 15-minute session video if you wanted to check out a lap or two: No tech inspect, no rider chat before going out. Usually it's the same riders out there or a new rider is coming in with someone experienced. The mantra is "get out there, have fun, don't kill yourself". I'm usually running about 70% on the Wednesday sessions and a little harder on the Sunday sessions. It's nice to be out there but I'm not exactly on a track purpose bike. ![]() |

I just swung by the last one to spectate. Didn't have the bike ready and had other things going on anyway. I was charged the $12 to spectate so I probably won't be going back too much this summer to watch and hang out which is a bummer. They charge at the gate now as well. Also, while they normally do two groups, this one was three as they had a bunch of actual car racers from the Tri Cities come up and run as well as a bunch of never been on the track car drivers. So there were 2 car sessions and one bike session per hour. I don't know about Code Red being kicked out as Cody was still there and running the show. There were only 5 bikes there in the morning and then my buddy showed up in the afternoon to make 6. I unfortunately can't make this Sunday but I am hoping to be at the first one in May. |
