Thanks for the warning on the tar snakes. Headed that way this morning (on my way to North Idaho). Had a fun ride from Portland suburbs to Pendleton yesterday afternoon/evening. I had to re-route due to a forest fire on FS48, narrowly missed a deer on 206, and might of almost caused a road-rage incident on 84. Good times! Hoping for a quick bite at Boggan's, if they're open.

Just back from a circuit over Lolo Pass, around Flathead Lake, 93, Stanley Hot Springs down 21(thats a cool road!), 55, 71, Baker City, Burns. Hotter than whatever 95 - 110, stopped several times for swim breaks to cool off, eyeballs felt like been staring into a weedburner by end of the day. But hey...fantastic country, great ride!

I had a great time the other week going down US-12 over Lolo Pass. Can't recommend Old Spiral enough if you like twisties. Here's a timelapse I got my first time going down (spoilers?) https://i.imgur.com/SDrOKEz.mp4

I lucked out temperature wise. It was in the mid 80s most of the trip and always dry.

I hit Old Spiral on Saturday but i couldn't get over how close it was to town and how loud my exhaust is. Therefore, i really had much more fun on Rattlesnake...

Found a little gem near Pullman yesterday. Almota is down on the snake near granite dam. A fun twisty section takes ya down to a campground, store and cafe. Makes a good break stop and from there you can make several choices for a loop. I went out to Dusty and made a loop south back to Clarkston. The dam and locks are interesting and there's a public fishing area and really nice boat marina. Finally had a day that wasn't fricken hot. No gravel!

I found that one last week too! I took a left on Almota
Rd coming from the dam and ended up in a couple miles of new roadbed that isn't paved. The gps is useless for finding paved routes...
Last night i went to Palouse from Moscow. No twisties but a beautiful ride. Looked like a pretty little town...

Any way to make a loop out of this or is it worth riding back too?

I haven't done the ride spokanejim posted, but if returning to Pullman. I'd look at that small road around Cottonwood that goes to Green Creek and hooks to 162 and then down to Kamiah. (64 from Nezperce to Kamiah is nice) Once in Kamiah back to Orofino up the back road to Dworshak Dam then Southwick, then into Kendrick (fun road) and easy to ride back to Pullman. When I was down there a couple days ago, there's a fire above Orofino, check that if planning to ride soon.

Saw a report by ladybug over on ADV yesterday that says Steptoe is gated closed for covid.
She was following up on what she'd been up to lately, so from a few weeks ago.

Boots on the street though.

How bad is the smoke where y'all live? Thinking of heading out for some rides this weekend...

The Methow changes several times a day, but on average the visibility is hazy at around 4 miles. Pretty nice this morning. Fires are north, east and south of here, so Omak/Bridgeport/Grand Coulee is really bad. I'm going to Clarkston this weekend and my wife says it's kinda bad down there also. Crap...might be cancelling the Oregon trip.
