Lightbulb Riding near Pullman?

Working out here in Pullman and wondered if there are any favorite roads? I ran to the dam and up albion road (gravel for maybe 2 miles which turned into gorgeous sweepers coming into Colfax). The ride ended up in a wheat field but now I'm wondered where some more good roads are in a maybe 3 hour loop?

And, if someone is up to go for a ride, I might be able to...

I'm kinda figuring things out myself, but a couple I've found. I don't have a map here, so sorry no hwy #'s.

I've only done this once, but the hwy between Potlatch and Santa was neat, then go south to Bovill. (out and back to Elk River is worth it) From Bovill
you can head back west to Deary, Moscow and Pullman.

Dworshak Lake dam above Orofino is kinda interesting. The county road just north out of Kendrick takes you right to it. Fun twisty county road.

I'm going down to Clarkston on Thursday for a week. Report back if you discover something new/fun.

Not sure about the two and the from but the town of Palouse is, or used to be a very nice destination with a park, some good restaurants, and a few bars. COVID may have changed some of that, but its still pretty.

So is Moscow. Say it with an O not an OW or the locals get funky.

Rattlesnake Grade! Aim for Joseph Canyon Viewpoint making sure to catch the Old Spiral Highway just north of Lewiston. If not interested in the viewpoint, turn around at the top of the grade, about 10 miles south of Boggin's Oasis.

Wawawai grade down to the Snake R, then up to Lewiston for the Spiral Hwy.
Hwy 12 East of Lewiston as far as you feel like or over Lolo pass to Misoula.
Hwy 11 off of 12 at Greer there's some amazing turns up the hill.
Up Steptoe Butte for the birds eye view.

All of this plus Old Idaho 7 outside of Orofino, make sure to take the detour up to the top of Dworshak Dam.

If you really want to stretch your legs head out to Elk City for lunch.

Yep. Already know the rattlesnake and others down south! It's fun. I was thinking about closer evening ride routes ...

Try this route.

Numerous options for a return.

Gotta say, these gravel roads out here are killing me. The GPS does no good as there is no way to know if the pavement ends!

Rattlesnake grade

BTW, we ran the Rattlesnake 2x on Saturday! The tar snakes were biting on the top headed south going down the first mile or so. The pavement coming back up the south side had a really nice patch of road that was a treat. They certainly need to work on the north side as it's much worse than when i rode it a couple years back...

It was slick enough that one Harley nearly went over the bank, but that gave the road slugs something to talk about over lunch at Boggan's.

I stopped in Pullman Saturday nite at the end of day one on a three day ride.

I would have sent you a text to see if you were up for a ride, but after over 500 miles in that heat, I was done riding for the day.

I think if I was going to ride in that heat a lot, I would try one of these out...
