Question Know of a vehicle tech/mechanic who would like to relocate?

I put this in Classifieds, but this might be a better place for it:

If you are, or know of a vehicle tech/mechanic who would like to relocate to the Pullman WA area, let me know. I have the hook-up, with several decent jobs available in the area.

Not even kidding- several...as in many. One shop has had three new hires flake in a row, so as long as you can show up on time and do the damn job, you're probably gonna be hired right away.

Have a family? Pullman has a very high quality of living with fair housing prices and one of the best school districts in the area. WSU helps to make sure this small town has most of the comforts of a larger city, including diverse restaurants, different seasonal recreational activities, and cultural events...all with a small town feel. Come git some.

PM me for details.

Honestly, knowing your stuff is good enough for at least the one place with the three flake-outs. It's weird, because its a good honest shop and pays pretty well. Hell, I even take my stuff there if it's out of my scope.

If required, many of these places would be happy to help you obtain certification if you made it part of your conditions of employment. Desperate times and all.

I've had some questions, so I'll add this about requirements:

A reliable attendance record, first and foremost. A mechanical background with an automotive focus, even if its maintaining their own vehicle to the point of replacing larger parts would be a start. The ability to purchase, or the current ownership of a decent set of professional mechanics tools and a box to keep them in. Any ASE qualifications would be nice, but can always be added as time allows. The willingness to learn and better themselves is also a big plus.

The owner and his wife are great people (I work with her, and deal with him on a daily basis). This is not just a chance to start out, but can easily turn into a situation where the person hired can buy out the current owner when he retires. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for a professional mechanic looking to make the next step.

And that's only one place. The best one, IMHO, but still just one.

Man if this was in Spokane I'd be all over it! Moving to Pullman isn't in the cards.

No kidding. Buy a house here and stay once in a while. It's a college town, so if you decided not to move and keep commuting, you won't be at a loss for renters.
