Saturday July 30 Rainier Ride

MotoDan and myself are planning another ride out around Rainier. More or less a similar route to my ride last weekend. Chinook Pass Overlook and Cayuse Pass for pics and Elbe for chow, and I'll entertain suggestions. Meeting 9 am at Bonney Lake Target (by the Red Robin) off of WA 410. Kickstands up by 9:15 am. PM Halcyonson or MotoDan for cell numbers.

Once around the Mountain

Google said four hours for roughly 220 miles, but with photo and rest stops, it's more like six. With weekend traffic, there's no room to scrub in your new kneepucks, and I don't want to pull anyone out of a ditch (again). Sane speeds and clean passes are the name of the game. Depending on group size, faster / slower guys can break off and we'll plan meeting spots. As usual, no shorts or flip-flops - there's no cell service out there to call an ambulance.

Potential route. I've cut across through Ashford and Longmire before, and weekend traffic is just awful. Real pretty scenery but the road is very very narrow. There's no getting around it when an RV had 15 cars backed up.

Edit: photobucket's ads are awful on mobile. Bullshit blocks the entire screen.

Good ride. I keep forgetting to post pictures because photobucket is shit on mobile, and this thread is blocked at work. Need to grab some ribs at home to put them up.

Finally getting around to posting pictures.

Noms.

And all the snow is gone from Lake Tipsoo.

Anyone hear a nun singing?

I swear I heard someone say "edelweiss."
