Old man winter still reigns...

(Presidents Day, not so new rubber, bare and dry but slight moss growth on pavement)

With the cold weather (-1.5C), the bike reminded me of the need to wait for the tyres to warm up.
First turn after exiting my garage, I apparently gave too much throttle - I lifted off from my seat upon regaining traction. Immediately turned the ride mode from “Race” to “Rain” for a few miles... whew!

Stay safe with the shiny side up!

Rode the FZ-07 in to work today, cold but no black ice. Have taken the S1000RR out a few times this past winter to keep the battery charged and fluids circulating, got a couple of reminders that cold wet pavement doesn't offer much traction with the rear tire spinning up and stepping out a little on freeway on-ramps. Keeps me in practice for the upcoming summer track days.

@S1KRR, what tyres are you running on your torquey FZ-07 (and the RR for that matter) during these less-than-desirable days?

Being retired I no longer have to go out in this stuff! Yesterday I didn't even bother to shuffle up to the mailbox to pick up all the junk mail.

I'm pretty close behind.
Being the boss, I just tell my group to stay home and not be a hero.
Scoot the wee ones to school and enjoy watching the snow fall while I work, knowing neither my 2 nor 4-wheeler will be in harm's way.

The FZ-07 has Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires and the RR has Dunlop Q3 for street riding. If I did more street riding in the winter with the RR, I would have either Pilot Road 3 or 4 tires on it as they have much better wet road traction.

I'm eyeing the BS S21s for the RR, but certainly not compliant with the current weather we've been observing.
I'll have to look into the Mich, as you mentioned.
