Ive never used on the track but on the street. I found that places like the cowl vibeste way too much. I would mount to helmet. I also have a suction cup mount that mounted to the gas tank, that worked well

Hey amigo. Here is an idea for you: GoPro mounted on the zx10 - Page 2 - ZX Forums

I have mine mounted on my bike but it doesn't capture the instrument cluster. No personal experience that I can provide.

I use a ram mount with a gopro adapter on my handle bars. As someone else mentioned the vibes were a little much (single 400 cc) and I like the camera being pointed where I was looking so I went back to helmet mount.

But the ram mount seems to me to be the most solid one out there. It's flexible and you should have lots of options to extend the reach to where you need it.

This isnt my set up but you can get the idea.

From my research (and a little experimentation):

1) find youtube videos you like or with your equipment and ask them what they are using, if they haven't already shared.

2) Helmet works the best. I will be doing this with my next helmet when I upgrade next year. The perspective and isolation from vibration is the best.

3) Depending on your bike, if you standard gopro mount it to the tank, you need a little rise to get a decent road/ instrument view. The Zx10 link above with the bracket is a good idea, but as you can see the camera is level with the top of the windshield to get a good view. mounting to the cowling/fairing you get a lot of vibration.

4) Camera recommendations, obviously the GoPro options are great, but I purchased a Gitup Git2. It offers image stabilization and shoots 1080P60 and works with all gopro accessories. There are cheaper non-Gopro cameras but this seemed to be the best sub-$200.

I just put a mount on the tank. That way you can get the gauge cluster or turn it around for rider view. I also have one on the tail section for rear view and rear rider/passenger view and another up in the fairing to catch the clutch hand and an angle view of the rider. I also have the chin mount for the helmet.

I found my gopro to vibe like crazy on my head even with stabilization. Maybe the high speed desert whoops south of the border are the culprit?
