Lawsuit time?

Just got off the phone with good to go to have my bill dismissed. Was informed that this was the last time it would be dismissed.

Federal law allows us to use them without charge per 23 U.S.C. 166(b)(2)

What details would you like? The pass number? How often I've gone into the G2G offices in person because their equipment can't read the transponder as it's to close to a metal headlight housing (their own employee's words)? Names and employee id's of the people that made that decision? How to fix the whole issue with a single line of code (without access to their database schema it would have to be pseudo code)?

The whole thing is a bunch of shit.

I put the free pass that they'd send (because they wont send you more than one free one... ?) on my helmet. I think you could even use it on a car the way they describe their system..

To the point of the post, I think there will be many voices on this topic if they are not dismissing or otherwise allowing motorcycles to ride for free...

Since illegal gravel and BBQ sauce aren't involved, I say go for it. Just be polite and let us know how it worked out.

I'm wicked confused. I just moved here from Montana so can someone explain this? Can motorcycles ride for free on the toll lanes?

Maybe, depending on the time of day, the road you are on and if you have a sticker on your headlamp.

If it is an interstate or a local state highway you can unless it is the 520 bridge. On 405 you need to get a pass from the state that you attach to your motorcycle's headlight. To have it automatically dismissed, you have to set up an account which involves giving the state $30.00. They also say that you can just call and have the charges dismissed.

From my conversation today, that appears to be changing.

If the government keeps wrongly billing you, maybe it's time to stop giving them your information. Removing that silly transponder and relocating your plate would be easier than suing.

Fwiw I've never gotten billed for 520 or the toll lanes and one of my bikes has the stock plate holder, so you may not even need to obscure the tag much.

From 5am-7pm on weekdays, you need a pass AKA a sticker on your headlight to ride in them free. Otherwise they will charge you and either send you a bill in the mail (with a $2 surcharge) or with a "Good2Go" account you get charged just the toll + $0.25 surcharge. They recently made the lanes free for everyone at nights & on weekends, which is why you can ride free then.

much.
I started out with the transponder on my last bike, but got wrongly charged ALL the time. It was such a pain in the ass.

I got a new bike and didn't get a transponder. I put a fender-eliminator kit on it ASAP and since the bike is very short I can reach back with my hand & cover the plate while I go under the transponders. It has worked every time. It took some getting used to at first but now I barely realize I am doing it.

If I for some reason get unfairly charged in the toll lanes, I just take 520 & skimp on the toll there to make up for it rather than deal with customer service lol

Computer glitch hits drivers with late WSDOT toll bills | KING5.com

This news and hearing folks on the forum bitching about transponder issues just keeps me out of the lanes. Even though I got the transponders and I have not mounted it yet because I hear it does not work.

This is like glitch #26, it never seems to end. I can't believe a system was released like this that fails so consistently

It took over 6 months for a 520 toll bill to make it to my door. By that point, I had sold the bike and was considering responding "it wasn't me, I swear!"

Any toll system where they don't gate the road will inevitably have more issues than its worth. Toll roads are just ineffective and immoral wastes of time for everyone.
