Car stolen

Last night at 0330 my 1997 Honda Accord was stolen form my driveway in Bellevue. Please keep an eye out for it. Currently has different wheels than the picture, I just donít have a more current picture. Tint is bubbling on back window, lights/blinkers are black background. I am currently in Italy on my honeymoon so if any news pops up please call the police. .

That is such a bummer. Even though a car like that isn't worth a huge amount of money, if it's in good shape and runs well, it has a lot of intrinsic value.

Some creeps tried to steal my '97 Accord when I was at Clackamus Town Center a few years ago. The locksmith said that they had done everything necessary to start the car, but for some reason weren't able to. I must have showed up at the right time, since I saw the creeps run.

I hope that it's recovered!

Well I’ve had the thing for 17 years, was my first car. Definitely more about sentimental value at this point.

You may get it back. I had my 1997 Subaru stolen and two weeks later the police called me and said they had found it parked on a city street. They had cleaned everything of value out of it, but otherwise it was fine. Needed gas and had a dead battery.

Cars that age have worn keys and locks, so anyone with an old key of that make can jiggle it and gain entry and often start it. There have been stories in the papers about it.

People specialize in stealing this vintage of car to take anything of value and transport themselves until they find another car like it. Often they use it to help support their drug lifestyle.

Part of the new sharing economy.

Well on the amazing side it was already found dumped in someone’s property in Kent of all places. Now to pay the other scam aka tow yard to get my vehicle back.

I've had bad experiences with tow yards. Found this advice:

"You might also try to negotiate with the towing company and mention the possibility of complaining to the Attorney General's Office regarding a possible violation of the Consumer Protection Act."
