Moto International shutting down

It is with great regret to inform you that Moto International will be closing our doors permanently. Our last day open to the public will be September 29th, with a final closure date of October 15th. We will continue to service bikes and fulfill existing parts orders to the best of our ability. Stay tuned for info on where to bring your bikes for future service/warranty needs. Motorcycle sales will be discontinued shortly, and currently all bikes are priced at our cost. We will not be taking any more special orders, or booking new service appointments. Look for deep discounts on all parts and accessories that are in stock. We appreciate the support over the last 25 years, but are at the point where it’s no longer financially viable to keep the lights on. Thank you for allowing us to serve you over the years…

Washington State is now without a "viable" Aprilia, or Moto Guzzi dealer!
"Pacific Northwest Motorcycles", doesn't have a single Aprilia, or Guzzi in stock, so take that for what its worth.
This sucks!!

I hate to see MI go. I bought my first Tuono there, a used 2009. I liked the staff and was treated well there.

I don't know a lot about PNW Motorcycles, they just did the fork seal on my Tuono and I can't complain. They do have one guzzi in stock and some vespas, so I don't know if they are an authorized Aprilia dealer or just an authorized Aprilia service center.

Last year I bought my 2016 Tuono from Ride Motorsports, who is also no longer an Aprilia dealer.

I don't think Aprilia is doing a good job of expanding it's dealer network. :(

Shit.. Another one bites the dust.

Dave is probably retiring, and he has earned it for sure.
He has done such a great job with that shop.

End of an era. I drove up from PDX to Seattle to get my Tuono from them few years back. The whole place had an awesome vibe and it was certainly one of the best buying experiences out of anything I've ever purchased. Just a cool shop, run by folks that really loved what they do and it showed.

As a an ex Piaggio group dealer (Vespa, Moto Guzzi and Aprilia) let me share with you that Piaggio does not make it easy on dealers.

In order to maintain your dealership agreement Piaggio required that you maintain x number of each brand, even though as a dealer you knew that you could never sell said number of each brand in the Pacific Northwest. This of course caused your flooring costs to increase at a rate that you could not sustain.

So, you decide to give back some of the bikes, which puts you in a bad spot with Piaggio.

Add that to the fact that Aprilia sales have fallen almost 70% over the last few years, Moto Guzzi's are great bikes but they were never big sellers in the U.S. and you just can't sell enough $5,000 Vespa Scooters when you can buy other scooters at $2,000.
