So, so strange.

Left port orchard at 930.
Rode to port townsend literally unmolested - i dont think i had to brake for a car except maybe once the whole way.
almost no one there.
dirty orange sky, thick as fog made it all blade-runner out.
and it was cold.
everyone in masks and now hats and hoodies.
haze shortening the horizon, boxing us in.
had an espresso and hauled-ass home.
literally nothing to see here.
its like 630 and im ready for bed already.
anyone seen that "new" 2001 R1 on CL.
Not my thing at the moment, but dang, somebody buy that thing quick.
uhoh likes this.

While riding over to Pacific Raceways I almost expected to see a caravan of Mad Max clones appear out of the haze. It was really strange coming out of the chute and barely being able to see to turn 1.

Nice R1. I’m not worthy!

[The last thing I want to do is ride in this toxic brew.]

Fuckin A. Bad times, they is here. Can 2020 please go away? I haven't ridden since last Tuesday when the fire shit storm hit. Been too busy and too dusty and smoky to even think about riding. I've seen the random dude out, but not many.

Things are pretty shitty down here in the valley, foggy this morning, and combined with the smoke (smog?), it's pretty gloomy out there. So here I sit, re-watching the MotoGP race from yesterday, and the Ridge MotoAmerica race from a couple weeks ago in my AC'd house, waiting for the rain. Strange days, indeed...

Totally - 2020 go away.

Have been moto-commuting from Milw. into work everyday this week, and although the air quality is notably better day to day, it's still terrible. Have never seen anything like it. Am fortunate to work indoors.

If I can be a trifle cheerful, it's to say that the three track weekends I had at the Ridge [one each June - August] were remarkably restorative to morale, at least temporarily. Have one more scheduled in T-Hill, October. Maybe others want to do so, too?

The bad epoch we're enduring does at least somewhat go away [albeit temporarily] with seat time - at least as is possible... Stay well, and resiliently plan something moto-related for the near future to have something positive to anticipate!

Umm...maybe i'm late to the party, but has anyone seen that Rocco Landers kid race? Is he from Oregon? Is he really only 15? And he's leaving for Europe before the end of this racing season to race. That kid is something special. He could be in Moto3 next year...any thoughts, y'all?

He was on-track with the advanced group at the Ridge in August when I was there. Very, very fast, clean passes, always looked under control. I was impressed with the young Mr. Landers' riding, and hope he goes far.
