The motorcycle probably irritated and distracted and obviously going to fast was unable to react correctly and rear ended the car.
I don't think your a bad guy Smokey. There's some pretty serious trolling happening here. But mostly people just being straight up. If your honest with yourself you'll probably come to accept your fault in this. But don't let anyone make you feel like a looser. I mean I hope your not loose. I mean I don't know you so you may be a loser. But probably not a looser.
Next time keep calm and ride on.
Might want to watch his video again. He tries to jump into the first lane, and gets mad when the semi is there. Then he cuts over two lanes rapidly, and almost gets hit by the Acura as he is trying to jump into the third lane without doing a head check. This pisses him off (as expressed by his own words on the video) and so he takes off after the car. He does not "cut across the lanes quickly to try and catch up" as he made the two rapid lane changes before the car goes by.

Here are his own words on this: "anywho, i was getting on i-5 and working my way over to the left lane thru traffic. acura comes flyin by doin at least 90 thru traffic. what u dont see is he was just in my lane behind me and barely missed me from behind. i get into the left lane and the rest is history"

Funny how he calls his aggressive lane changes "working my way over". He also doesn't mention that he saw the Acura before it nearly hit him. So I'm not quite sure where you came up with the idea that he saw the car speeding and decided to change lanes, across the freeway, to catch up to it to see its plate.

Smokey, they really want to buy your video, the trucker has already sold his video to them.

No, he's been editing his posts and removed the video links.

(He must have read Komos article as well..)

The crash occurred at about 2 p.m. Monday. The motorcyclist told Washington State Patrol that he had a Go Pro camera and wanted to "be a good citizen" and catch up with the driver to record his information.... Troopers with State Patrol say they are recommending charges against the motorcyclist and the driver of the Acura...

If you have a camera on your bike/car, you just have to do what the cops do. Know when to delete the video, say the camera is broken or "accidentally" drop the camera into your Big Gulp.

Wouldnt matter much here, since there was another camera rolling. I think the lesson here is, always have a camera rolling but know when to turn it off.

Yup!

Here's another example how videos can work.

oww that stings

Riders video shows cop pepper spraying other motorcycles. (edited to only show that.. and not what happened beforehand.)

Dashcam video shows guy in pickup throwing his phone away.. (those phones are expensive.. why toss it?)

IMHO, more cameras are better than less cameras.

I doubt it. At most Smoky will get a reckless driving citation. The Acura driver (if true) will get a DUI.

As far financial or property damage loss. Smoky will have to pay for the damages to car he hit and any damages to his motorcycle are his "problem", so to speak.

I can start a go fund me account so Smoky can get some "education". I put in my two cents for that...

Maybe a go fund me account can raise enough me to buy Smoky a new to him Speedwagon, uh maybe not.

so I watched the video....2 questions
1. What the fuck were you doing? I mean you could have at least lane split past him on the right, furthermore, you smashed right the fuck into that car...tough break I guess. I'm all about a good time but real talk that is taking some dumb shit to the extreme. Plus katana's are slow, I mean faster than a car but slow.
2. I hope your ok and get off light with the fuzz, but why give them the video? I mean dude like I've been around for a minute and the one thing I was taught early on is if you gonna be dumb, back roads, and if on freeway late at night for dumb shit.

Like I said I hope ur ok and get off light but fuck man, you might wanna take a minute to evaluate your actions a touch.

As for all the people who are like, "oh bad name for riders" and all that road rage bullshit...like for real if you have the power to overtake cars in a few seconds shit can get outta hand real quick. So its cool we can all be arm chair analysts myself included. But lets keep in mind, its real easy to go from 60-120 mph on a bike just through 2 gears 2nd to 4th. Harder yet to keep your cool and your hand outta the twistgrip. Even though that bike isnt a true sport bike, still faster than a car and just keep in mind overtake is a motherfucker when you forget that your way faster automatically.
End rant/ feel free to flame me
