Someone had already uploaded his original video to YouTube. Titled "Moto crash". If it's not you OP you might want to have it taken down.

The MSF/VTTI report mentioned in another thread a while back found that 35% of the two vehicle motorcycle accidents they surveyed were rider rear ends car. 2% were car rear ends rider.

You're lucky the driver doesn't have an insurance company to argue against you.

How's the bike?

This thread reminds me of that illegal gravel thread of the last board.

Or better yet, this song needs to be re-worded

The middle finger goes up

A car flies by

I'm wondering about my frame mind

Hitchin' A Ride! Hitchin' A Ride!

I have no fare to ride a train

I Got to get back; to my cry baby blaming ways

Hitchin' A Ride! Hitchin' A Ride!

When in doubt laugh at the situation.

Even with the most "tacky" of post.

I am biased to support riders, and especially those on this forum. But from the first few seconds of the OP's ride, I was thinking he is too eager with the twistgrip. Probably too much testosterone. I have exploded onto a freeway like that many a time, and have been lucky it hasn't landed me on the trunk of some cage.

If ever you are involved in a crash, and I hope you are not, insurance companies, including your own, are not your friend. They are in business to make money. One of the ways they do that is to minimize outflow of cash. If fault is in question, or even if it is not, insurance companies will do anything they can to reduce payment responsibilities.

Here is a real life example. A rider is struck through no fault of his/her own. Hospital stay and subsequent recovery takes many, many months. Medical bills are significant. Defendants lawyers (their insurance company too) try to find some information about the victim to show irresponsibility. Through "right of discovery" all those posts that a rider would have made to the internet, whether on this forum or others, becomes potential evidence even if it does not pertain to this incident but does reflect established behaviors.

So, not only do the videos from truckers or other motorists matter, your own verbal or visual posts may serve to reduce or possibly eliminate compensation. Now if the rider has crashed all by themselves, the videos posted of wheelie adventures (as an example) may reduce or eliminate your own claim for a damaged bike let alone any medical costs. A certain rider/poster from Salem should take note.

Further, ranting on the web about transgressions made against you by some imbecile motorist or boasts about kicking doors, breaking mirrors, or other road rage may backfire should you ever have to go to court. And don't think for a minute that you will be able to twist the facts to favor your claim. The science behind crash investigation teams goes a lot further than the cops just asking you what happened.

Think about what you do. Just sayin'.
