Dude....so glad you were not seriously hurt. Sucks to have others actions jack up or day, in 40+ years of riding I have ad it happen a time or 6. I also use to travel that road every day from Lacey to Puyallup on two wheels, rain or shine, and t seems worse than other stretches of I-5 even way back when. Great shot of the license plate as well if he had taken off and run. All that said, I could not help but chuckle at your explosive potty mouth...reminded me of the track on Tenacious D when Jack Black goes off on Kyle for eating his leftovers....I know you were just hurting, but that guys expression was like a zombie. Hope this ends up sorted out for you. |

Ok a lot of hate towards me goingon. so i flipped him the bird for almost rear ending me at high speeds. big deal. is that worth it to try to kill someone? ive gotten the bird and i dont try to kill them. i was only trying to merge into the left lane. as soon as i got around the semi he slams on his brakes. and then he tried to run. multiple witnesses saw the whole thing and i was not in the wrong. he had been flyin for miles flippin thru traffic and i was just trying to get on the freeway to go to my next errand. as for my reaction, u try to hang into a car at freeway speeds while tying to bang on the window bc he wouldnt stop. so yea i got pissed. i wanted to shove him into traffic or beat the shit out if him but that would have only made it worse. plus i was kinda in pain so yea. he was not in my lane when i was merging. my lanes were clear. he came form around other vehicles in the right lane to switch to the left lane. i did not cut him off i had my blinker on and checked multiple times to make sure it was clear before each lane change.. when i made my check.for the left lane, he was launching behind me from the right lane, thru my lane, and into the oeft lane where i was headed. btw he was dui go ahead and judge me. be an armchair critic. idc. You haven't explained what caused you to rear-end him, and as others have pointed out, the responsibility is largely on you to not strike vehicles in front of you... another way to put it is that the vehicle that rear-ends another vehicle is almost always at fault. Simply saying that "he slammed on his brakes for no reason" doesn't absolve you of any responsibility. |

Also, I would delete that video from your photobucket account, and delete the link. The cops say they want a copy? I wouldn't give them a copy if it were me. I'm not a lawyer, but video of you rear-ending another car... how could letting the cops see it possibly help you in any way? And the way you have linked the video, it is downloadable by anyone... just saying.

So, I've watched the video several times and this is what I see (and probably what a lot of non-riders will see): a sport bike entering the freeway, jumping over two lanes too quickly (that's called unsafe lane change, WSP says 3 seconds in each lane before changing to the next), a car goes by quickly (but it is impossible to tell how quickly), rider gets mad and flips him off, rider changes lanes and accelerates hard to catch car, car slows down (no brake lights are evident in video to prove "brake check"), rider runs into him hard enough to be flung onto car. Sorry, but your "evidence" only shows you at fault. |

So let's start at the point you merged into the left lane and appear to accelerate like you are going to go chase the guy down. Question 1: is that a tach or a speedo that you can somewhat read on your dash? Question 2: can you give us a honest answer as of the speed you were traveling when you struck him? I have watched the video multiple times. And I am by no means looking to point the finger, but it appears you accelerate, then maybe back off the gas (just by the sound of the exhaust), and then there are no indications that you apply the brakes, nor does it look like his brakes lights are even on when you hit him. If you turn the sound off and don't listen to the wind or noise to be able to tell how fast you were going or accelerating, what it really looks like what happens is you just are not paying attention enough to relize you need to brake and just smack into him. Hahaha, previous poster beat me to it, basically saying the same thing I did |

I'd give it a 7. Poor form... but you get bonus points for sticking the landing. |

Close call. Just be very glad you weren't seriously injured! I learned the hard way too that it doesn't matter if the vehicle ahead slams on their brakes it is ALWAYS the fault of the person who did the rear ending. |

Only haters say hate. Nobody is "hating" on you. People here are "just telling it like it is"; so to speak. Please do yourself a favor. You made a mistake. Learn from this accident. When merging onto highway; the vehicles on said highway have right of way; not you. Okay? This accident could have prevented. If just did not have enter I-5 in Tumwater like your ass was on fire. The bottom line is, you rear ended an Acura. That is your fault. Smile, it could been worse; you could have rear ended an old Pinto. That would have been a blast. If you know what I mean. |

Sorry man, your video shows no evidence of this. He may have been drunk, and he may have been driving fast, but he did not cause you to crash. You did that on your own. You chose to chase after him, were going too fast, and didn't see him slow in front of you. And your video will be able to clear him of your accident because it clearly chows he didn't brake check you and that you simply slammed into him on your own. |
