In the past.
Prince Rupert and Back
My wife and I had planned a little time for a ride this year. We heard about the inside passage ferry that BC runs and decided to go for it.

Our best laid plans were nearly squashed by WSDOT. As we approached the Hood Canal Bridge the signs mentioned an opening was in progress and expect delays. We had built in about 2.5 hours to Port Angeles so we weren't too worried. That soon change as we got to the line and saw people turning around. We finally inched our way to the front where a cop said there was an issue closing the bridge and they hoped it wouldn't take days. So we turned around and started our very quick pace around Hood Canal. We managed to make the ferry by minutes.
Weather turned kind of sour right off the bat. Except for the first and last day it rained on us at every day at some point. So every picture it seems has a cloud theme.
I planned the lodging for the trip up to Prince Rupert and then after that we decided to wing and carried a tent for any camping we might happen upon. Well the rain and lightening made us seek more substantial shelter. The first night we found a cabin on a lake. It was pretty much a rough backwoods cabin for fisherman on the lake but it was dry and we got to use our sleeping bags. After that Jo decided to take lodging in her own hands and found us rooms the rest of the way except for one night of camping near Kelowna.
Overall we had a great time and I recommend this trip. The roads were all in good condition except where we voluntarily left them.

With a grin on my face
I may well follow in you tire tracks next summer. Been wanting to do a longish ride into BC and your photos have only fanned the flames! Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for sharing your trip. Great picts. I admittedly don't take enough "interesting sites/attractions" pictures when I travel. I tend to focus on the roads and landscapes, so when others post interesting "places", I really appreciate the shared experience more.
