First Time Moto-Camping + Offroading a ZX6R

Decided to take an overnight trip to Takhlakh Lake. I headed out Sunday morning and got back the following evening. With plans to take NF-23 south right after fueling up in Randle, only to find out it was closed, I ended up taking 21 all the way down. Little did I know, it was all gravel. Ended up doing roughly 45 miles of off-roading on a supersport... One road I was on, pretty sure it was NF-2329 had a washed out section with several cars parked in front of it due to it being to treacherous. All I know is they should categorize the pilot road 2 tires as off road tires since they did much better than I would have expected. Thought my camera was rolling but sadly it saved none of the footage from my trip.

The route I took home was NF-23 south -> 141 -> 84 east, google maps didn't want to comply.

Took a short break here to enjoy the view. Mt. Saint Helens from NF-25.

Same spot, different view.

Mt. Adams tip action.

Random meadow.

Made it to the campsite. With a lighter and a hatchet, I was able to make a fire

Mt Adams visible from the lake.

Headed home the next day, I stopped to fill up myself with a chocolate milkshake and some non-ethanol premium gas at almost $3.75 a gallon

One last stop before hitting the highway home.

For those who don't want their rear end feel like they had a butt-exam done by Freddy Krueger himself

Fun ride! Rider confidence and experience are important for riding on gravel. Particularly on a bike that is not really built for it!
There was a thread some time back on another site : ) where a person did some rough riding/camping on a sport bike.

All motorcycles are dual-sport mc's. My kind of trip and a great place to go. In May I went to Chaco Canyon in NM and to get there I had to ride on hard pack dirt for 20 miles in on my VFR800. Of course to get out I had to do the same.

Looks like a fun place to take a trip to! Also, love your bike. Been highly considering a fifth gen vfr800 for quite some time now.

That's the way to do your first Moto-Camping trip; you just go and do it.
