Nice writeup Mel. How does the saying go... "Like herding cats"?

I've been wanting to take Kevin on the route to Oakridge for many years, and I hate to see such a great road spoiled by them if it covers the entire length.
I was down there last week. I would say there are 5 to 7 strips of gravel across the road. The strips are only about 2 feet wide and not very deep. Only one of them is at the end of a corner exit. The rest are during straight stretches for the most part. They are nicely marked with cones so you can see them coming. More of an annoyance than anything. Luckily they are just on the southern 1/4 of the Aufterheide. The northern 3/4 are clear and in great shape. Go have fun!

You know it's funny. Here I am the first to arrive at Mel's house for the weekend but I'm the last to post photos...at least I'm punctual in person!

And finally onto the pics!

That's what I was hoping for, that the top 10+ miles around Cougar Dam are unscathed (except for the "long" one that's been there for years). I'm still hoping I can get him down there before summer ends, so thanks for the info! It's nice to see all the pics and great writeups, but then again it makes me a bit wistful to have missed this again. Definitely one of the best parts of summer is to get together with a bunch of great women like you all.

Awesome ride report. I am new to this page so just saw your report today. I am new to Salem, in a couple of months. I ride a S1000R obviously...from my user name...and can keep up and then some. Anyway would love to ride with you. Don't worry as far as I know I am normal, and yes I can ride. Hope you see this 3 years later.

Welcome to the neighborhood and the forum
Hope to see you around!

This coming summer will be our 10th year putting this event on! I don't have the dates figured out yet, but will be pulling out the track day/race/etc schedules soon to get it figured out. For the time being, I'm aiming for the end of June.

The website will be updated when I get the dates figured out - but for now, here's a link for where to watch. The gallery page has the photos that are now missing here, along with ride reports for most of the years.

Thanks Mel.
Plan to do the 34 route over to the coast as soon as weather permits.
I'm here now in Salem and work has started.
My bike and I have been reunited but so far only a quick visit to say 'hello' out in my brother-in-law's shop until we get moved into our house next Month.
Temps look decent to ride today.
Might just take it for a spin. It has been 3 long months.
Have a good day
