$1.13?? Crazy! I too remember it when had just the small loby, don't remember those prices though!

Well, it was 1971... This was before the small lobby - you stood outside under heat lamps in the winter.

When I was in high school in Grandview we could get a small burger, fries and a Coke for $0.53 at Dairy Queen. Gas was $0.27/gallon. We could cruise Yakima Ave all night for $1.00. Do kids still do that? I met my future wife cruising the Ave.

They were actually Bronto-Burgers back then as Cows hadn't emerged from the primordial ooze yet.

Has anyone tried the WE3 Coffee and Deli in Dufur, OR? Last time I rode through I stopped at Kramer's Market, which was fine for a quick bite, but WE3's got some good reviews.
Backwoods had great pizza when I went last summer. I hit camp again with a back seat loaded with most of a dozen Voodoo Donuts, a full growler of Backwoods beer, a slice or two of leftover pizza, and a phone full of pictures.

Well, if it's original 1950s drive-up burger and shake stands you like:

Dari Delish, St Helens, OR. Seems to be a compulsory stop for the locals. I've never had anything but the burger and fries, both awesome. There's a small area of the parking lot blocked off at the end of the row of outside tables that's perfect for motorcycles.

Tastee Treet, Prineville, OR. The can't-miss stop when you're the way to SE Oregon the fun way via Paulina->Izee->Burns.

Bad news: RJ's in Fossil is apparently closed; up for sale. I recall last year they were having a hard time staying open because they couldn't find help.

Always moto-friendly, RJ's will be missed.

It's a shame. Was a great little place with good food, and great pie and milkshakes.

Done

Location: Dufur, OR

Establishment: WE3 Coffee & Deli

Parking: Gravel Parking Lot

Menu: Coffee, smoothies, milkshakes, and softdrinks on the drink menu. Food is limited to mainly sandwichs, wraps, salads, soup, and baked goods. They also have a small breakfast menu. Check their online menu for specifics

Additional thoughts: Great little place with reasonable prices, friendly staff, and real good soup and sandwich's. My Tuna Melt with a cup of Red Bean and Ham soup was delicious. Great milkshake too.

Route taken:

Mt. Hood Loop - FS-48/Wamic Rd. - FS-44/Dufur Mill/Dufur Valley Rd. - Cooper Spur Rd/Dee HWY - SR-14

My friend Wade (RIP) took me up to The Spruce Goose at Jefferson County Airport a couple times. Outdoor seating is awesome if you like planes. Place can get busy but if your heading up intp Port Angeles or Crescent Lake, Hurricane Ridge or Neah Bay, check it out.

I went up to Vancouver Island from Port Angeles back in October and we stopped for lunch at this little place not too far from the terminal in Port Angeles:
