Yeah. Ornish is a kind of hero. He is working on research that is finding that foods such as strawberries have better cancer fighting abilities than the best anticancer medications. Their researchers believe we can pretty much reverse and prevent cancer through plants.

On the other hand, there is absolutely no scientific evidence that any diet can reverse diabetes. From what my actual PhD dietologist friend told me, the all plant diets work mostly due to the removal of sugars and carbs with high glycemic index - rice, potatoes, white bread - while retaining enough fiber and slow carbs to feed the gut bacteria. None of which requires avoiding meat.
Apparently it is not just vegans who understand nutritional science or that diabetes can be reversed.

Great. As if we don't already have enough to deal with with Global Warming there is this as reported by Politico:

The great nutrient collapse

Joel Furhman calls his plant based diet nutritarian, because he acknowledges the value of plant nutrients of all sorts to work together to heal the body. His sort of diet may be even more critical as we find out that the nutritional content of our agriculture has declined by a tenth or more as environmental CO2 content has risen.

Food stuff aside, A-fib will eventually kill you given all the other issues if it continues(via secondary means, it itself will not). Get the fucking ablation if you have issues again. It works. Maybe you'll not have issues again with your diet, which would be great, but if you do please don't think food is going to save you again

Glad you survived it all and are doing better!

From my reading and discussions with cardiologists, afib will not shorten my life. I do take a coumadin-like anticoagulant (Pradaxa) to ensure against stroke.

I cannot at this time receive an ablation because I don't have a normal heart beat. If I begin to establish a normal rate, I can consider an ablation.

Again, this diet and exercise lifestyle is probably the best thing I can do to minimize afib along with other cardiovascular issues. Exclusion of salt alone is linked to less afib.
