Thursday Night Eastside Ride 7-12

Meet at 5:30 leave at 6:00. Same meeting spot.
I will not be available but am hoping someone will take over the lead for this ride. Be safe and have a good ride.

Myself or Mr. Kornflake (or any other willing volunteer who has ridden it 10 or more times) will ensure this thing goes off as per usual.

Typical Thursday ride kids, this ride is on highly technical roads sometimes 15-20 turns per mile--lots of times marked 15-30MPH (or less), never cracks triple digits, and runs about 100 miles or so with a ride completion before dusk.

Meets at the Red Barn Chevron at exit 10--get your bike fueled before 6PM.

Usually there is no official sweep, but at logical stops--like the crest of a large hill with a stop sign--we will wait for the entire group to catch up...

There's no set route...but it usually includes most of the roads on this map...and any great roads in between...like Ridge road...or Mattoon...Tickle Creek and even Sawtell if it gets as far as Scotts Mills--roads you simply must do...

Vehicle ground clearance will be challenging on these roads...thus...supermoto/enduro/adventure/sport are highly recommended platforms...

There was this guy that used to show up on a Harley. It was fun to watch all the sparks when he cornered. Luckily he knew how to ride well and never got over his head. He kept up pretty well for riding a harley.

I have a Sportster...not sure I would try it. It would be one hell of a light show. I think the Virago...or whatever they’re calling it these days...might sit even lower...

Stay hydrated y'all...temps to reach 93°-95° at ride time. Bring water / a hydration backpack and/or be prepared to buy drinks at Red Barn...

What’s the deal with all these people who have to work to make money? It’s just disturbing. You need to find a gig where they pay you to ride the Ape full time...

This ride will have 2 parts...I guess...for the first 30-40...I will run us to a park where we will take a bathroom/watering break. This will be your Typical-Thursday-Ride paced part...and then from there...I would say the latter 3/5ths of the ride or so, Uncle Dave will take the helm and will most likely do a sumo-riders-all-leave-in-a-row kind of tempo...mind you...I'm just guessing here, but, if history is any teacher...that's usually how it goes down...

We ran a few miles to Dave's...then into a theater to watch Ant Man and the Wasp...quite seriously...just too darn hot!

I'll let Dave tell you the "Broke her bike..." part of the story...
