We will see how it goes at my first service.

And, I've found my first complaint with this bike:

Finally a nice day weather wise, and I did 50 miles on my favorite back roads.

Now I've done these roads a hundred times on the vstrom, I know my braking points, I know when to shift over on the seat, I know when I'm about to grind hard parts, and I know when to lean and believe.

On the 690, nothing.

This #*&*$% bike STRAIGHTENS the roads.

No need to start braking at my brake points, no need to muscle the bike back and forth, no need to shift on the seat and get ready to lean, heck. no need to lean, just turn.

Frankly, no need for anything but thinking "lets go there."

So where did all my 'twisty' roads go?
Gresham may think they can install it just like I-90 Motorsports thought they could. I hauled my bike over from Bremerton and when they hooked up the computer the option is just gone. They called KTM customer service about it and were told that on the 690, and just the 690, the track pack makes the bike exceed EPA standards so they don't allow it anymore. KTM was very quiet about it and didn't inform dealers.

I would very much like to know your results because if they can do it, I want to know how. I really want the track pack. It's one of the reasons I bought the bike to begin with.

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Nothing on the website indicated no track pack when I was researching the duke. Wonder if KTM will care? In fact, according to KTM, track pack was an option. (humm, class action?)

I figure they can't charge me if they can't install it, so I'll let them have a crack at it.
