Post Portland to Astoria 7/24

Hello,
Figured I'd take some initiative as the Portland forum...is a little on the quiet side...

Sunday 9:30am KSU 10:00am
Meetup: Skyline Chevron
Pace: <Track Junkie. Spirited / Moderate
Lunch & gas up in Astoria. 1+ stop in-between to stretch, etc.
Route: Nothing exotic, head out Skyline + Scappoose/Vernonia + 202

Definitely welcome more experienced riders joining and/or leading if so inclined. Please let me know if you are interested in coming!

The weather looks great on Sunday. I have a few friends with bikes I've never ridden with I'm trying to drag out as well, I'll put them as "questionable"

I would love to join you if you'll have me. Fairly new rider looking for people with more experience to ride with. I am fairly familiar with the route up to Astoria and back.

That sounds fine, as you can see haven't drummed up much interest (it might just be us 2). We can go a slower pace as well, I'm mostly interested in hitting up Astoria.

I might swing by and go as far as Vernonia. Need to be back in Vancouver around noonish. Don't wait for me though. I'm definitely a "maybe."

Glad to hear the KTM twins made it home safely. How was the road you scouted out?

Thanks to Greg for taking the initiative to post this ride! Always fun to meet new people and discover a few new roads. It was, as Borat would say... GREAT SUCCESS!!

Thanks for joining me! Had a decent turn out between the people who showed up on time, caught up around Pittsburgh, or thought they were on a different group ride! I appreciate the navi help especially with mixing up a new route back.

Corners were carved, A LOT of pizza was consumed, and the nice weather was enjoyed. Road construction was...negotiated . I ended up with ~250 miles

Not too bad...if you don't mind gravel. The route ended up being around 27 miles, 15 of it was gravel with a few random short sections of pavement inbetween. We popped out on hwy 26 roughly two miles away from the hwy 103 turn off.

If you go out 26, take the road to Mist. Comes in the back side of Astoria, great roads.
