We got lost (should have looked more closely at the address!) looking for CycleTune the 1st time around because we thought it was ON Powell. Just dropped the bike for service this morning. Judy can't wait to ride the bike normally once the 1k break-in miles are up. The Z1 is next for a valve adj..

We've done short rides together as she is trying to build up some stamina. Just a little bit at a time.

I have taken the FZ on a Carson / Cougar loop though . For only a 5k rev ceiling, it does pull quite nicely in the lower revs. Vibration isn't all that bad like the magazines say, but then I'm used to riding a vibe-rider RD350...talk about primitive and those long top carbs...meh. We'll see after break-in if the bars need vibranators.

But the seat is a plank on the FZ-07 like the original Z1 seat (was). Took that (Z1 seat) to a guy in portland to cut it curved to my ass and a nice new black cover for only 100 bucks. I think Galen got to ride the Z1 w/ the modified seat and the vibranators in 70s style handlebars. Money well spent!

Nope! 116,000 on the clock, hoping for 200K! It's @ Cycle Tune getting valve adjustment check.

Bike is fully broken in now (>1K), and if it weren't for the fact I've spent the last 1-1/2 days prepping for a Colonoscopy tomorrow (yeah TMI) I'd be up at Pine Creek or a similiar destination right now.

Planning on taking off for a ride up there early Saturday morning as long as I'm up to it after the procedure tomorrow afternoon.

I'm looking forward to making up for a lot of lost time and missed events the last few years, the remainder of summer and especially next spring & summer.

Maybe you should hit the Aufderheide.

I'd like to, but not sure I'm up to a 250 mile day yet. Plus, I know a guy who lives near McKenzie Bridge, and there are 4 separate fires surrounding the area. Probably very smoky there and it may not be safe right now.

It's one of my favorite rides, to be sure. I hope I can get there before summer ends.

Whoa QLG, don't I remember you from the motorcycle-usa forums?

Anyway, nice bike! Im loving this new direction Yams has taken with their FZ line (not actually that new, I've just been noticing more lately).

Gorgeous Bike!!! Thumbs Up!!!

How's the leg positioning for you? More standard or sportbike? The ones I've seen look like the upper back sportbike position but hard to tell not knowing how tall the rider is.

Great bike, and great choice...the FZ-10 is on my radar! :-) Hopefully I'll see you around. How is Holy doing? :-)

Hey Ro!

Long time no see/read. Judy had Nels re-flash the FZ and do the airbox mod or snorkel removal. a little louder (yes...I like takeoffs in 2nd gear..nice and throaty), smoother cruising and a nicer hit above 6k rpm is what I feel. I think it amounts to 6 more HP...not bad for a 4 stroke. I'm trying to push her towards an exhaust. She says Nels will re-flash for free if she puts on an exhaust.

So Judy will be on the glacier blue FZ and I'll be riding old faithful (black Z1000). The Z1 now has over 116,000 miles on it. Cycletune did a nice job on the valve adj.recently. 2 exhaust valves were off on the Z. Bike is a bit smoother. I know Judy would want to take progressively longer rides and I think it would just be too hard on the two strokes. Especially on rides like Johnston Ridge or Detroit Lake.

I'll put in another endorsement for Cycle Tune - they are great to deal with and always seem reasonable. Heard good things about Vicious Cycle as well but no personal experience.

Wow, that was a LONG time ago. That was a good forum while it lasted!

I'm liking the FZ for sure, but I'm also missing riding the smokers. They all seemed to arrive at needing rebuilds at the same time. I guess I better go back to work at some point, that, or (gasp!) sell a few. No...not yet!

Thanks to all for the Cycle Tune recommendation. That'll be my go-to place for 4-stroke work from now on.
