Looking for an electrician for small side job.

We are hoping to find someone in the community who can do a small side job for our bathroom remodel. Anyone out there willing to help for a reasonable rate? Thanks!

Be careful. You want to make sure that, at the very least, you electrician is bonded and licensed. We did a bathroom/laundry room remodel a little over six years ago. We used a contractor who hired an inexpensive electrician. Problems developed last year and we had to hire someone to fix the original kludge.

I live near you so here is a local recommendation, we used "Mr Sparky". If you want more info I will root around in my papers and find the name of the guy who did the job. He was top notch. Just send me a PM.

Good advice. You'll need the outlets in the bathroom to be GFCI protected.

Just some advice.

I supply cable to Electrical Contractors, you get what you pay for, there's a reason some are a lot less expensive than others...

There are good ones out there that will do side jobs but, you should have a friend recommend one to you that's used them before or, pay a reputable company.

I will also point out even though they may be bonded and insured doesn't make them good, PM me if you want any recommendations for your area.

You are absolutely right on that. Im an electrican in beaverton and just because some shops are legally able to sign for work doesn't make them good.

Once upon a time you could come to this community and there were lots of skilled people willing to help out fellow riders. We found someone here for our last electrical job (back in the sbws days) and just got lucky I guess.

@307T, thanks for the Mr. Sparky recommendation. Turns out the guy is a fellow rider and knows someone we know who gave him a glowing recommendation.
