So you're complaining?!?
The obvious reason I see is that you're lane splitting as it is- he/she has absolutely no way to get by traffic as quickly as you are. You'd be long gone before there was any chance of getting through traffic so why bother. Even if traffic wasn't backed up, there are several other reasons not to pursue that I can think of. Oh, and 'jurisdiction' extends a lot farther than you might think so that's not an issue whatsoever.

Folks start the video at approximately 3:00 and save yourselves some time. Better yet, just move on- nothing to see here....

Uh no, I’m not complaining. I actually said I love Oregon.

I know a lil about jurisdiction and that was kind of a joke. Even though, I wasn’t in Clackamas county. Why so serious man?

And actually if you look, the sheriff had a huge opening to switch lanes and a wide open shoulder to catch me. Would of been a super easy stop....

Bru you need an ice cream cone. Ride your bike down to Portland and I’ll take you to salt and straw. I’m serious.

Whether you approve of splitting or not, he wasn't complaining, and that cop could have easily lit him up and gone after him.

I feel like sheriffs are less likely to pull you over for traffic violations than city police are. I'm guessing he let it slide because traffic sucked and you weren't being crazy.

There's also the possibility that Clackamas County has a policy for "chasing" motorcycles and traffic like this dictated that he didn't give chase. I have been pulled over on my bike by Clackamas County Sheriff though (without traffic).

There's also the possibility that you'll get the award via mail, though I think that's unlikely.

Who knows why but I’ve noticed in my lifetime cops don’t always give chase on something obvious. They might have bigger fish to fry down the road.I had one speeding ticket on a bike in 1975 and many opportunities since but so far clean for decades. My riding style when younger seemed to be max rpm in every gear. Now even though I have that ability I don’t use it. I guess lane splitting seems to be a commuting deal and that’s something I don’t have to deal with. Even if I was working and had to run the gauntlet every day I’m not sure I’d split anyway. Just seems too risky. Ride or drive I always checked before leaving. That way if traffic mandated it I would leave a little earlier.

Very unlikely because I have no visible plates on this bike.

Thank you for the kind words.

I never said I had no tags. I said no visible tags, which in my case, is 100% legal.

Not all police officers in marked cars are tasked with writing traffic citations. Maybe he wasn't on the clock, on his way to work or back home. Why waste his personal time writing a ticket.
He may have got on the radio and reported your position and direction, maybe you just got lucky that there wasn't another cop waiting a couple miles ahead.

Not sure man, he didn't accept my offer so we didn't go. His loss. I'll take you to Salt and Straw though! Get your ass back in Oregon and we'll go.

My commute for the past 6 years steadily increases... Its 12 miles, 11 freeway and 1 on the streets. I know ALL the back roads and short cuts ect. Last year there was a Friday that took almost 2 hours... That could be considered a problem.
