I already do. About 10% of the drivers get insanely mad,... real fast. Theyíll usually ride your tail piece while laying on the horn. Iíll give a friendly wave and then move on. Hopefully theyíll eventually get it. Iím not risking my life, wasting my gas and time because of someoneís ignorance or the ďsystemĒ.

Iíll take the ticket, and when I get one Iíll post up how much it cost. Itíll just be a cost of riding. As long as I can keep them to two a year I think Iíll be ok.

You realize driving is a privilege and not a 'right'? The 'system' is what allows you to drive/ride at all. And guess what? They make rules because people that don't have 'rules' do stupid things and are only concerned about themselves and what they want to do. Which is all fine and good until the 'other persons' ignoring the rules of 'the system' interferes with someone else's ignoring of the rules of 'the system' and someone gets hurt or dead.
"I do what I want". Go for it.

Well,... the system doesnít allow me to drive, it charges me a fee to drive in, to some, a better environment. There are also many ignorant rules/laws. Some are so ignorant they are not inforced. When you look at history, we are still in the toddler stages of powered transportation. Ignorance is abundant in this area. Things will continue to change as time passes. What now looks like a ruthless mongol weaving in and out of traffic on his straight piped Harley on a death mission to the average cager, could be perfectly leagal in the future. Who knows.

Guess what Iím trying to say is one day we will all look back at this and laugh,... one way or another.

I used to smoke pot too when it was illegal. Even got a ticket for it once in Cali.

And when those of us that take the time to travel to Olympia or Salem to meet with legislators to ask for Lane Sharing, and other M/C legislation, your traffic behavior is what they recall or have been told of. When we offer positive compelling testimony at committee hearings we get nods of agreement from them only to be followed by WSP, Harborview Medical and the insurance lobbyist demonstrating your traffic behavior that sabotages the efforts and gains we may have made. Think about what you're doing to others that ride, not your selfish self

Having never ridden with me, you really think my behavior is sabotaging your efforts? Cmon dawg...

I have one moving violation in 25 years of driving. I got my MC license at 23. Therefore, I beg to differ.

The final win will not come from compelling testimony before a committee, it will come from riders making personal contact with their elected representatives, preferably back in district, and educating them individually on the issue. In shore, make the sale before WSP, etc. even get into the room.

The MOST painful ride back up I-5 in my life. I had cornstarch in my gear and gloves to alleviate the itch and pain.

Here we are, probably about 8 to 10 years later, on the same fucking bike...I just sat here on 405 today trying to get from Bellevue to Renton, pulling in and out my clutch and weaving to stay moving while a notorious overheating RC51 heats me up in full gear...and all I can think of is the open gaps in front of me and how I can just breeze through...but....I follow the rules. I hate it...and am ready to give up.

That is why one of my 5 bikes is a Yamaha TMAX 530 scooter. Best commuting and city motorcycle I have ever had. Best rain protection too. Awesome!

Hello Juan,

Thank you for reaching out to the Representative about HB 2314. There was a hearing on this bill in the Joint Committee on Transportation earlier this year; while Rep Reardon is not on the committee, our impression is that the committee members did not receive encouraging information from the safety analysis of the proposed changes. For this reason, we don’t anticipate a work session this year.

I know this news is probably disappointing, but I wanted to give you an update.

Thank you and feel free to reach out about other legislation that may affect you this session.

All the best,

Kat Schwartz (she/her/hers)

Legislative Assistant

Representative Reardon

House District 48

Office: (503) 986 – 1448

Rep.JeffReardon@OregonLegislature.gov

Got that today.....

Will 2314 do an automatic refile like WA does next fall? Any specifics on the "safety analysis" they had trouble with? Is it OSP that's doing the safety presentation? With your legislators home for the summer now's the time to be connecting and educating. Stay on top of their town hall meetings, support their other legislative efforts - those you find palatable - get to be on a first name basis with them so when MC legislation comes up they will remember you.

Man, I applaud all that diligent, patient, hard work that those in the know do to try to convince apathetic, close-minded bureaucrats to do the right thing. Maybe if they weren't so filled with preconceived notions and prejudiced against the "norm", we could actually get progressive ideas through their thick skulls.
Sorry for the run-on sentence. This basic, common sense idea that fails every time it's introduced just PISSES me off to no end. What a bunch of bought-and-sold, corrupt, narrow minded ass clowns. Fuck em all. I will split every day. I hope one of these assholes are one of my next "victims", as I call em. Get a glove, get in the fuckin game. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. It's 2019 for fucks sake.

It's mostly one person (McKeown). If I lived in her district, I'd probably start a recall petition on her.
