I need a redemption for this ride since the only time I came out (last summer) my bike died in the Chevron parking lot. Friday sounds good

I gotsa Friday Night HS Football game we are heading out to, so I'm not gonna make it y'all...

Kinda bummed because I finally got my brake fade issues all worked out...new EBC semi-sintered pads...fluids flushed...the bike actually stops now...the stuff I flushed out of the brake lines/reservoirs could best be described as "glue"...

I was looking forward to finally carrying a tiny bit of speed into the tighter stuff and not holding you guys back like I usually do...

Missed y'all...here's hoping everyone made it back alive & well...I did a short wheel up Forsythe yesterday...coming back up 99 from McMinnville...and there were bark shavings, rocks, wet pine needles and all kinds of nifty traction challenges going up that beastie...

It was all good. Roads were pretty amazing. Traction control for the win. And I saw some sparks fly going thru a corner.
Thank you Lee.

There were wheelies everywhere, and at least one of them was sketchy af. Perhaps he had a traction challenge.

Oh yeah man it's part of the allure of the whole Thursday experience this year we had a guy get pulled up by a tractor... A few folks exited the road surface for a bit...all kinds of sketchy stuff happens... I hope it's not Dave leading people astray. As you're probably aware he's no longer an actual motorcyclist... he's now a religious leader. They have a cult of sumo. They meet in secret and they have all kinds of weird rituals and a secret handshake and shit. Some of them may even be romantically involved...it's really hard to say at this point...

And just be careful how you address Dave because he is truly the exalted high priest of the benevolent order of the sumo...he's even been the officiant at several sumo funerals. I know a lot of you didn't have a chance to attend the funeral for Paul's bike...it truly was an American tragedy...or a Scandinavian tragedy or something...you know it's hard to pin down everything is so Globally-sourced now...anyway...it was a beautiful ceremony. Full disclosure...it was a little bit awkward at first because I didn't realize people had to get naked for these funerals. It was weird because it was just a bunch of dudes...but I wasn't sure what was going on...I had never been to a sumo funeral so I wasn't going to question it.

Anyway...I was there and I was just absolutely inconsolably crying about the bike and everything & how young it was... just 200 miles on the odometer with an MSRP of $11,600... I was there naked as a sumo...and shivering and wailing...I almost had to go home...

It's just a tragedy...there were so many wheelies left to sketch up...so much unrealized potential man... I mean ...to lose someone like that at such a young age ...it's just...so...so...sad...

At the end of the ceremony it got really solemn & we all stood around in a circle and we each...in turn... threw a broken clutch handle into the fire...

Then Reverend Dave said a few words about the frailty of life and the inherent danger of clutch-ups. and we all drank a toast to probably the most heroic and potentially most expensive failed wheelie in the history of Clackamas county...

And then I started crying again and had to excuse myself ...

Meh- lol.
I was just a cameo appearance doing some slow dancing on a dirty Duc. I don't adhere to cults and can't/don't do wheelies. As long as the post-wheelie carnage is behind me where I don't have to witness and dodge the debris, I'm good to go.
