Something to note, if the legislature wants to take the bill up again and passes with a 2/3 majority, it's veto proof.
I didn't call her a Dumb Bitch until AFTER she vetoed the Bill. She'll be out of office before this Bill gets a vote again. It took FOREVER the first time. If the Oregon Legislature passes the Bill, who is she to say 'No'?

Also, she is a Dumb Bitch for a number of reasons, not just this, including a complete lack of leadership on Covid. No one is happy with her, and she's only in office because Kitzhaber was such a Fool.

Since when did you guys get so polite?? I remember a time with Bikers said what they thought and didn't care about anyone else's reaction. It sounds like several of you have had you Balls confiscated. This Bill should be Law by now. AT LEAST, try it for a Year and see how it works, they can always repeal it, i.e. the Dumb Bitch can change her mind, which she does already.

My understanding is that LANE SPLITTING in Calif. came into being a long, long time ago when everybody rode a Harley, and if you let the bike idle too long in Traffic, the air-cooled engine would burn up.

Not that much unlike the current HD, eh?

it seems you missed the civics class. there's this thing called a veto..governors have..the president of the united states has it...now the legislators can over turn a veto of either of those people...the legislators in Oregon did not over turn the veto..even though they had the numbers to do it...
Kitzhaber hasn't anything to do with her election or re-election..it was the people of oregon who voted for her that made her governor...like I said..you seemed to have missed your civics class...where do you get your civic information from? seems they've been lying to you and you've gotten confused...want to see bad leadership of the Covid pandemic? go look at Nolen in South Dakota...compare the number of deaths per populations and see who killed more...once again your information source needs to be improved..by a LOT...you want a BITCH governor? South Dakota has the biggest...

Well, it seems YOU missed your Oregon History class, Pal!

Kitzhaber's shenanigans with another dumb bitch, (Cylvia), led to his resignation, and Kate succeeded him by default. Yes, she was elected, but I do not believe she would have otherwise ever started a campaign to run for Governor on her own. So she was the incumbent Governor at the time and viewed as harmless. Then she ran for (re-)election, again as the incumbent which is a powerful advantage in Oregon if you haven't done anything seriously wrong.

I don't believe Lane Splitting is an important priority in Oregon, other than to Motorcycle riders, who don't have a very powerful influence here. So when the Bill finally came up and got passed, it was cause for celebration. And then to have it vetoed by a know-nothing, uninformed, ill-advised Governor was just heartbreaking.

Legislators are busy, and this is not their top priority. Certainly not enough to mount an override campaign. I don't know when if ever, we will see this Bill again. You guys are acting like if we behave REAL NICE, and say PRETTY PLEASE, they will try again. Not gonna happen. I think this was our chance and it's gone.

Now I think if somebody made a deal to increase Motorcycle Registration fees by $50 if they passed the Bill, we might get someone's attention... That's the way Politics works.

I think the bottom line is Oregon Drivers are pretty wussy already, and they would be terrified by a Motorcycle roaring up along side them in stopped or slow traffic. Most drive real slow, but they hate when you get ahead of them.

As far as Covid management goes, or anything really, I do not want the Government telling me what to do. I think as time goes by, the perspective of History will judge what was done properly and what was a mistake. But I do think there are some similarities to our Lane Splitting bill.

I am fully vaccinated and I wear a mask, because it's the right thing to do, and I would do it no matter what any Government official says. But here's Kate, shutting down Restaurants for ONE WEEK, and then changing her mind, or making decisions from some statistical list by County, with who knows what accuracy.

It's important for People to take responsibility for their own actions. If you don't want to wear a mask, or you don't want to get vaccinated, that's up to you. Just don't complain if you get Covid, or expect a Hospital bed and a Ventilator to be waiting for you. If you are worried about getting Covid wear a mask or don't go out in Public. I do think we should protect Hospitals and Nursing Homes because they are especially vulnerable.

There seem to be a lot of anti-vaxxers in the Midwest, not sure why. Maybe they just don't trust anything that comes out of the Blue states.

no I didn't miss any history...Kitz and his wife Cynthia played a little too fast and loose with some ethics and had to split...Brown was secretary of state..next in line...just another civics lesson here...his actions caused him to leave and the LAWS gave the governorship to Kate...you can "speculate" all you want on whether or she would've run after Kitz normally couldn't...I think she would've..can't see any reason why she wouldn't...maybe you have some "information" that I don't..though I'm inclined not to believe so...I can remember that campaign slogan "Kate..she's harmless"...hahahaha..oh man...she had an advantage because she a democrat in a mostly democratic..read blue..state...I don't know..isn't the fact she hasn't done anything "seriously" wrong a good thing? worth running on? so she's a dumb bitch for a number of reasons? what would those be and would they be as bad as the ones you've been wrong about so far? hate inslee too..he saved lives too...
I don't know if you've ever noticed..but secretaries of states generally run for the governorship of their states when it's "their time or turn"...kind of a career path of sorts...but you have other information..right?

She just never struck me as a person with any Leadership qualities. She seems to have a very weak and apologetic personality. I think she bends with the wind according to whatever popular opinion is with no real ideas of her own. She walks right down he middle of the road, very forgettable. Her only accomplishment is she has avoided any scandals, kind of like Gerald Ford after Nixon. I expect more from the Governor. What has she really done for this State?

A lot of other people with good ideas have tried to run for Governor unsuccessfully. Even if she could run again, I seriously doubt she would be elected. As a Physician, Kitzhaber could have been a valuable l eader for Oregon during Covid, but that ship has obviously already sailed long ago. Don't even get me started on Ted Wheeler. I wonder how she would have handled the protester takeover of downtown Portland. Probably the same.

and yet she was Secretary of State...yeah you get that by having no leadership qualities...did someone screw up and that's how she got that job? do you ever read what you type?
3 terms as a state representative..3 terms as a state senator as the majority "leader"..and 2 terms as Secretary of state...you think she wasn't going to run for governor..you think she has no leadership qualities...unfortunately for you the evidence and FACTS prove you totally wrong...where in the hell did you get your "information" from? don't go back there..they LIED to you...

So she's a life time Politician. So you're defending her?

Good for you. Why don't you go work for her next campaign?

There are plenty of people who will be glad to see her go:

https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/...oll-finds.html

https://morningconsult.com/governor-rankings/

https://www.opb.org/article/2021/03/...d-19-response/

I don't really care about this any more. I don't really care that much about Oregon politics. This is a Motorcycle Board. All I wanted out of her was Lane 'Filtering'. And now that's gone.

yup life long politician..no problem for me...I like my professionals to have experience..I consider it a plus..especially if I agree with their policies...
defending her? uhh yeah I think that's what I was doing...
there are people who don't like her? d'oh..you're kidding me right? do I think they're complaints are legitimate? no...
work on her campaign...I've never worked on anyone's campaign and would be more inclined to work for Bonamici who has actually come to my door and asked for my vote...
yeah she can go suck a d**k for vetoing the lane sharing..but I already think she does anyway...I heard she likes the girls too...oh baby...

Easy there, fella's. I'm not necessarily one to intervene and/or take sides, but it feels like my mediation skills are required here (if not asked for). Look, that's a crappy job, who in their right mind would want that gig to begin with? It's really a no-win proposition. Ya can't please everyone all the time, so you just try to do what you think is right, and try not to piss EVERYONE off. With the pandemic, it's been doubly difficult, I'm sure. Everyone has an opinion, everyone has their own set of selfish circumstances, and everyone's an expert. I, for one, wouldn't want the responsibility. I have a hard enough time not killing every dipshit cager who's doin 45 in the fast lane.
On the other hand, I really don't see the reasoning behind not signing that bill. According to our own experts here, it was a bill that was supported by both parties. It makes perfect common sense to sign that into law. Of course, I'm biased, but it just seems to me that it makes sense for everyone for so many already outlined reasons that I won't mention for brevity. Too bad that one instance can be so polarizing. Just my opinion...

History will not be kind to people like Trump, DeSantis, a couple dozen more governors and national 'leaders.' Their lack of leadership, overt denial of the pandemic and stupid logic resulted in a hundred-thousand preventable deaths, 5 or 10 million PREVENTABLE permanently-maimed survivors of CoVid19.

Experts in the fields of virology, epidemiology, public health were ignored, because those massive egos (and small minds) loved to hear themselves talk.

All they had to do was NOT say anything. A skill they clearly lack.

"It's important for People to take responsibility for their own actions." Really? If this were a common human trait, then why have any laws at all?

Meanwhile, back in the real world, we continue to need leadership, sound public health laws and practices, and for the graduates of google (or Trump)-university to just stfu and let the adults speak.

oregon has 4.2 million people w/ 2,612 deaths due to covid
south dakota has 884,659 people w/ 2,041 deaths due to covid
do the math..who's the real bitch? how could kate brown have done such a thing? boy I bet that Inslee was just as BAD as Kate...where was some dumb ass republican governor when you need them..right..as in right to die and kill others with your stupidity...nothing spells freedom like DEATH...
did you hear about the clown who had 99 problems but getting a vax wasn't one of them...yup that clown has NO problems any more...saved himself from sure death or micro-chips w/ that BAD vaccination...smart man..all about his freedom...6 feet under and enjoying DEATH...
AND well you caught the covid and unlike all of those naysayers..you lived...cool now you've only got these things to deal with..the REST of YOUR LIFE...https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/2021...ter-mild-covid
I sure am glad it was "all over" by may last year (trumpie) and "would go away with the warm weather (trumpie) and that "it's just like the flu" (every god damned republican)...can you imagine what it would be like if those people..trumpie and the GOP weren't lying their asses off and telling the truth? some of us can..some of us can't...
